  1. Really? I wondered when I heard they'd parted ways... Now I wonder whether it was a) just because of the reputation hit they've taken for season 8 or b) because they were actually doing a shit job or C) because star wars and game of thrones fans overlap and Disney knew better than to pick a director partnership that would start out with fans sharpening their pitchforks...
  2. I'm mostly concerned that klopp may not extend and could feasibly leave in 2 years without having won the league. That would be a big blow. It's critical I think that we achieve more honours in the next two years.... Players-wise I'm not concerned. The premier league is probably the most interesting challenge in elite football right now so that puts us in good stead to keep players and attract new ones. Of course always a risk that we lose a great player but we are more diversified than we have been in previous years so we could get through it. I'm sure Mane to to Madrid will do the rounds again in the summer and make me uncomfortable
  3. Agreed that they'll move the fixture. Playing two games simultaneously, or playing three under 23's or forfeiting all do too much damage to the brand.
  4. Well articulated. Players are human and no matter how much you condition players to be ready for that online vitriol it would absolutely fuck most people up pretty bad.
  5. Yeah and credit to Hendo for how he handled that. I wasn't commending what xhaka did at all. It was wrong no doubt. Stupid even. But still it showed there was some fire there, being willing to have a pop at a stadium of fifty thousand people... I could imagine some captains from days past not taking kindly to being booed and being hot headed enough to react in the spur of the moment in the heat of their own frustration about their performance... They're just lucky to have played in more successful sides that never wound up coming under fire from the fans the way today's Arsenal are...
  6. I'm not even sure I will be excited by the time this drops. Meanwhile the Dave's have abandoned their star wars project in favour of a big budget Netflix deal that only got signed earlier this year... Surely if they cared enough about star wars to phone in the last two seasons of game of thrones they'd not have jumped off like this... Maybe they just tried and did a shitty job?
  7. Am I the only one who didn't hate xhakas reaction? Ballsy I thought. Not the behaviour of a meek and unfit leader but showed a bit of fire in frustration. It was a mistake. For sure. And for sure he would be regretting it and apologise. But you'd really think he should never be Captain again from that behaviour...? Arsenal aren't playing well but they're 5th and not in the worst shape of the usual "big 6".
  8. Maybe a move for Sancho? Surely one of the top 6 clubs will go all in for him soon?
  9. Netflix comedy called The Good Place. Fresh and original. Fun concept. I'm glad I gave it a try. Good show to watch with your partner.
  10. @SirBalon will be relieved to finally have a deal in place

    Ladies feet

That's good cos this is a foot BALL forum, not a foot forum.
  12. 16 is a baby. I don't know anyone that didn't say some offensive shit at that age. You're still learning you're place in the world.

    Work/Jobs Thread

We use Maximo at my work which from what I gather is a similar but simpler and different product. It's web based and do I find it to be annoyingly slow to refresh and save and other things. People seem to really rave about SAP
  14. Could there be a referendum of no Deal vs best deal available?
  15. How was your wedding mate? That should be worthy of a thread like the Bluewolf built a cubby house one
  16. You mean us taking 3 points from a top 4 side while city drop 3 against a relegation zone side? As far as single Matchdays go it's hard to improve on that
  17. I think the current model of the EU needs review because conflict is brewing. That's brewing in the form of a resurgent far right in many member nations. That's being brought about in large part because the prosperity is not being delivered, or more particularly not being delivered throughout all member nations. The single currency helps for example Germany maintain a low currency this making them highly competitive, whereas poorer nations that if not tied to the single currency would have a reducing dolla exchange rate that would counterbalance their economic woe and make them more competitive. The needs to be some more honest conversations on this area and a bit more expectation management.
  18. Haha. Would love to have a pint with you mate but Sydney may as well be Johannesburg mate. Same hemisphere but still half a world away as far as a father of two young kids is concerned. Realistically though Perth is an occasional possibility for me, or if ever you're in Melbourne I'll cancel any pre existing plans to meet you at a pub
  19. It seems to be a sub theory of those with the belief that Jews have been running the world economically since the 1750's. Google the wealth of the Rothschild family and go down a few rabbit holes online. It's interesting. If you really buy into that then you could understand how holocaust conspiracy theories become tempting to believe... This is my second experience with a person like this and in both cases you can see a surprisingly articulate person having views that seem to require the most extreme of logic twists and lack of balance and partiality.
  20. What's interesting to me is why people buy into it. Obviously some do in a specific instance because it excuses or supports their racist ideologies but I think there's also that conspiracy theorist mindset that is excited and energised to feel a sense of having knowledge of some secret truth, and will indelibly devour conspiracy theories of all forms and subjects. Such people ultimately wind up in a habit of believing the least logical thing and using that criticism they get from others as a form of praise to validate their own sense of self worth as being smarter than everyone else for believing something unique. The psychology of a conspiracy theorist is more interesting than most of their conspiracies imo.
  21. Keep not checking for a few more years so you can keep voting outdated figures
  22. I do rate Matip but not as someone that will go down as one of the best Cb's in the league. Probably because I'll never be entirely convinced he should be ahead of gomez. I still don't feel we've been as strong defensively as we were at the start of last season with VVD and Gomez before his injury. Obviously alisson missing disrupts it now but I still felt Gomez was more complimentary to VVD and it had the potential to go down as one of the great CB pairings
  23. Stranger things season 2. Seems good so far
