I agree with this. Barton could pass the ball in tight spaces. Something Scott Parker, Barry and Milner were useless at. He would have been in my Euro 2012 team. There is no one to benefit. As long as Englands young footballers are brought up as kick and rush champions you will develop fuck all. You might see some talent in the next 5-10 years or so as clubs like Liverpool actually start teaching football perhaps.

I think pretty goals against nomarks are overrated. So my favorite Messi goals are him stepping up in the big moments Like last night against Juventus, when with his side 3 goals behind he... missed the open net never mind But what about 2012 against Chelsea, when he stepped up to take the penalty to put his side ahead on aggregate. And missed, whoops. Or the penalty shootout of the copa America where he stepped up to lead his side to its first piece of silverware with him as their talisman and... missed and retired. Well fuck.
