IgnisExcubitor Posted January 11, 2019 Author Posted January 11, 2019 This is daft. I watched the show (Koffee with Karan) featuring these two, where usually Bollywood stars come and reveal their secrets. The format of the show and its host has that effect. I cringed at all the things Hardik said and expected a backlash from the PC twitter mob. The criticism he got was justified, but to suspend him for having shitty opinions is a bit too much. Also, amused that KL Rahul, who didn't utter any daft things, gets a suspension too. Quote
Administrator Stan Posted January 11, 2019 Administrator Posted January 11, 2019 What were their opinions? What did they say?! Quote
IgnisExcubitor Posted January 11, 2019 Author Posted January 11, 2019 Everyone already knew about Hardik and Rahul's off field activities (Apparently they are popular with girls). They just talked about it on the show, except Hardik was rather crass about it. Things like announcing to his parents how he lost his virginity, his affairs and the black thing ( he thinks of himself as a West Indian and to be fair to him his West Indian teammates at Mumbai India have said the same countless times, like how he is born in the wrong country and should have actually been a West Indian). He said that like a West Indian he first sees how the girl moves on the dance floor before making the move because it's important for later (read sex). And lastly, his favourite pickup line, "Hi, I'm Hardik always". Personally I thought it was just cringe and the sexist remarks deserved the criticism, which he got from all quarters and for which he apologised. But banning him for that is just daft. And Rahul getting the punishment for simply being part of the show is just wrong. Quote

OTT reaction from the authorities. Quote
Administrator Stan Posted January 11, 2019 Administrator Posted January 11, 2019 Also, if anyone wonders where myself, @IgnisExcubitor @Azeem @Mel81x @Asura were last week, this may give some ideas. I think it was @Devil-Dick Willie who filmed us. The bit at the end with the replay cracked me up 3 Quote
Azeem Posted January 12, 2019 Posted January 12, 2019 (edited) Australia's new kit is so old school Edited January 12, 2019 by Azeem Quote
Azeem Posted January 12, 2019 Posted January 12, 2019 (edited) Great Test match going on Abbas frustrating Steyn although he's been lucky but he's been more brave than most of our top order in this series. Would have been even better if it was the series decider Edited January 12, 2019 by Azeem Quote
Administrator Stan Posted January 12, 2019 Administrator Posted January 12, 2019 Could be a good chase on here for India to execute. Chasing 289, they fell to 4 for 3 by 4 overs. Sharma and Dhoni rescuing the innings and currently at 139-3. Should be treated like a T20 match now with 150 needed from just under 20 overs. Quote

If Dhoni stayed in for even 5 or 6 more overs we might have had a chance but can't fault Australia for keeping it very tight in the bowling. Sharma was quality as usual though. Quote
IgnisExcubitor Posted January 12, 2019 Author Posted January 12, 2019 Imagine Pandya with Rohit today instead of Jadeja. We could have won that. The other problem is that without Pandya we wont play Chahal. It's absolute stupidity messing with an important all-rounder in a World Cup year. He needs counselling and maybe even a hefty fine, but banning him (has been asked to return to India) is just stupidity. Quote

Administrator Stan Posted January 15, 2019 Administrator Posted January 15, 2019 Chase is on for India. Need 71 off 48 balls with Kohli sitting on 99 as I type this... Quote
Administrator Stan Posted January 15, 2019 Administrator Posted January 15, 2019 Trademark MS Dhoni. 6 in the final over to help secure the win and tie the series for now. He looked absolutely exhausted though. Totally shattered in the final few overs but manages to summon up enough energy to whack Behrendorff for 6 in the first ball of the final over. Calmness personified as per, from Dhoni. Never, ever seems to panic. 1 Quote
Azeem Posted January 18, 2019 Posted January 18, 2019 @Devil-Dick Willie Olivier says he wasn't expecting such success on his short deliveries. Like i said we made a hero out of him 1 Quote
IgnisExcubitor Posted January 18, 2019 Author Posted January 18, 2019 Dhoni's obsession of taking every match to the last over, even when things are easier before is absolutely irritating as hell. Quote

Makes it look ridiculously easy though! During the middle overs I thought Australia wrestled back well and kept the bowling tight. Fielding sometimes let them down with a couple of run-out chances and dropped catches but in a tense tight game like that, there's not many other players you'd want at the crease than Dhoni. Well supported by Kedar Jadhav too. 1 Quote
IgnisExcubitor Posted January 18, 2019 Author Posted January 18, 2019 Needlessly gets the runrate high. It's going to be come back to bite him and us, most probably in the WC (it has on few occasions in recent past). On a side note, the power struggle at BCCI between Edulji and Vinod Rai (the current court appointed heads of BCCI) is costing Hardik Pandya dearly. In a World Cup year. https://m.timesofindia.com/sports/cricket/news/difference-of-opinion-in-coa-vinod-rai-and-diana-edulji-engage-different-lawyers-in-supreme-court/amp_articleshow/67577062.cms Quote

He seems to get away with it more than losing and above all else, the win is all that matters. Maybe he gets bored winning so easily sometimes so makes it a bit more risky and interesting for himself Quote
