That works for circular motion but I also need X-axis motion to move back and forth as well. Kind of like those cameras they put on rails to shoot really fast events like the 100m. So imagine I have it set at a height and you want to be able to slide i to the center of a table and away if necessary. The ballhead doesn't help there neither does a bending arm. This is where my conundrum starts. I have seen pro rigs but they have these complicated locks and I don't need that. Just wondering if something commercial is available. Yeah, but that's what I meant - if you use a horizontal arm, you can slide it back and forth over the table. Similar to this setup: Check the video in the link to see what I mean: https://www.google.com/amp/s/h5.aliexpress.com/item/33016272439.html So you can slide it back and forth, move it up and down as a swing arm, rotate it. If you get one with a ball head, it would even offer additional movement angles if you need them. Should cover it all, no? And here is one of them as an example: http://slik.com/products/sliding-arm-ii/ 1 Quote

I'll take a look into that sliding arm a bit more as I think I could achieve what I want with it. Thanks. https://www.amazon.in/Proaim-2ft-Zeal-Slider-Stabilization/dp/B00N9WSPJE/ref=asc_df_B00N9WSPJE/?tag=googleshopdes-21&linkCode=df0&hvadid=397080840656&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=17653685172003575840&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9062032&hvtargid=pla-403917183027&psc=1&ext_vrnc=hi Quote

It's basically a motorised sliding arm, but is by far more compact than the rails. Combine it with their gimbal, and you're golden. Quote

Nice photo. Just one tip: consider using manual focus point selection and focus on the eyes of the cat, as when you have it on auto it usually focuses on the thing nearest to the camera and it happens to be the nose most of the time, haha. Yeah, I've noticed on a few of them that I took of her that it had focused on the nose. I need to get into the habit of using the point selection more. The joys of self teaching! Thanks for the tip Quote

Subscriber CaaC (John)+ Posted September 29, 2020 Subscriber Posted September 29, 2020 The wonders of Mother Nature, this tree lost one of its branches on a stormy night on the 13th June, Leith Links Park, wee Kaiden thought it was a good place to plant his ass for a breather lol, they ended up chopping the tree down as it was unsafe. Two years later Mother Nature would never give up and look at the stump now with wee branches springing out, maybe in 40/50 years time when I am not here it might have grown again with branches the lot. 13th September 2020 14th June 2018 Quote
