With Earth in ruins, 24 hours on the clock, and the odds stacked against them, a team of space specialists embarks on a seemingly routine mission to the moon. But when things quickly take a turn for the worse, they’ll fight for their lives and uncover secrets that make their mission seem more and more impossible by the minute.

Mystery sci-fi thriller with a brilliant cast. Really looking forward to this... Available to stream on Netflix on Christmas Eve!

Looks great! As I'm in a Sci-Fi mood at the moment anyway, I'll definitely give it a go.

From the actors I recognized Bae Donna straight away, from Cloud Atlas. And the sleazy guy from Squid Game. :D I know that other main guy too, but I don't know where I've seen him before.

What is it with Korea conquering Netflix these days? Is it a deliberate choice from Netflix to support their Film/Series industry? I mean, it's a good choice as they often do great stuff.

Yes, Netflix have been investing heavily into Korean movie/series industry in recent years. One reason is definitely their aim to expand into those huge markets (Asia mostly), but I also think it coincides with the fact that western audiences "discovered" high quality and production value of Korean film-making, and demand for it is growing, especially now that Hollywood seems to prefer rebooting and rehashing old stuff instead of coming up with interesting new ideas.

I for one welcome our new Korean Film and Series overlords.

Serves Hollywood right for rebooting stuff, or focus on a franchise like Avengers that has like 99 different movies now with all their different superheros. Or the same old Zombie shite over and over again.

Really enjoyed it. It's not flawless, but a very entertaining watch with some interesting ideas and concepts. Very atmospheric and suspenseful. Loved the whole "exploring a mysterious abandoned moon station to uncover some secrets" angle.

Hope there will be Season 2.

@nudge I might watch this. Might start early though as I could see myself binge watching it all in one go

Yeah, I watched it all in two sittings... Very binge-worthy as at the end of each episode you're keen to find out what happens next.

@MUFC :bye:

How many episodes have you watched now?

Just the 1. Is it me or are there actors from Squid Games in this series?

The actor who plays the captain of the mission definitely is, he played the mysterious face-slapping guy who recruited players for the Squid Games. I don't know about the rest...

Watched episode 3 this morning. Initially I was suspicious about the guy in charge of the teams. But now I'm looking at the main lady who was asked to change her profession to be on this mission.

Episode 3 was on the spooky side.

Jack Reacher: Never Go Back (2016) Tom Cruise - Action/Crime/Mystery - 6.0/10

Bloody hell, I only watched this the other night because there was nothing else on but, although Cruise will NEVER be a Jack Reacher, I quite enjoyed the film despite reading the book and Tom Crusie as Reacher is a small, skinny little runt at 5ft 6 inches I think it is and Reacher in the books is 6ft 4 inches and built like a brick shit house.

Yes I watched both Reacher films and despite Cruise's small stature the story keeps it interesting.

Not sure if you noticed yet am sure the author Lee Child was at passport control handing back Cruise's documents.

Actually I noticed by you alerting me this is in the wrong section xD

I will have to move it now into the right thread, no, I never noticed Child in the film?

I re-watched Taken last night with Liam Neeson and felt 20 years ago he might have been a decent fit for Reacher.

The guy who plays Mr. Kim also played the sleazy bad guy in Squid Game.

I really enjoyed the sense of tension and mystery. The way they discover one dark secret after another is shocking because they're out on the moon and seem powerless to do anyth8ing about it.

Is there a season 2?

I really enjoyed it too, but found some things a bit too predictable, so that is maybe my minor complaint about it.

So far, there are no news about Season 2. It hasn't been officially announced, but I hope they will. The story is far from over...

I watched the first episode. Not my kind of thing

Just finished the first season. Some very frustrating illogical things happening. Like, the characters literally behave stupid as fuck sometimes. But it was still entertaining, and it had it's good and clever moments. So I enjoyed it for the most part. 2nd season could be intruiging.
