Middle of that bunch looks tough.

Bayern, RB Leipzig & Dortmund all in the space of 5 games/weeks.

Yeah, I hope for a good start of the season... That's where we screwed up last year.

Our first pre-season friendly against Braunschweig about to kick off...

Pavlenka - Agu, Rieckmann, Friedl, Augustinsson - Erras, Schmid, Klaassen, Osako - Sargent, Füllkrug

2-0 HT, looked pretty good in the first 30 minutes. Schmid and Agu pretty impressive, Erras with a few dodgy passes, Osako and Füllkrug left the worst impression.

New XI for the second half.

Dos Santos Haesler - Gebre Selassie, Toprak, Groß, Straudi -  Mbom, M. Eggestein, Bittencourt - J. Eggestein, Selke, Woltemade

Poor second half, massive quality differences compared to the lineup in the 1st half. Mbom looked pretty good though.

Haven't watched this match since I saw the line-ups a question arose. Is it me or did brothers Eggestein stagnate or even regress last season?

Definitely. Maxi in particular, as he played well below par and certainly below his 2018/2019 level. Johannes failed to make the transition from youth to professional football in general so far, as much as I'm concerned... I don't understand why he's being played on the wing and in the midfield, but even when he was given a few chances as a striker, he didn't exactly impress either. Definitely had higher hopes for him.

Have we sold Milot for $1000000000 yet?

No, but he wasn't involved in today's friendly to prevent any potential injuries, so we're probably close to it!

Interesting that we're interested in lemina. We need wide attacking flair. We have a bad Egg, and Bittencourt at the moment who can do the job, whos gonna be wide left? If Bittencourt is going to be in the midfield with Klaasen and Lemina who is going to attack down the right?

And the biggest question of all, who is fixing our dead ball problem?

Chong on the right, Bittencourt on the left. There's also rumours regarding Jozwiak, so that could also be a possible solution for the left side. Nürnberg's Hack could be an alternative option.

Hope we don't play Bittencourt in the central midfield with Klaassen, that's just asking for trouble... Have very high hopes for Schmid, will need some time to adapt but his vision, creativity and intelligent passing is something I'm excited for.

Friendly against LASK just started, already 1-0 through Selke.

Interesting formation and lineup, with Mbom as a right back...

Pavlenka - Mbom, Toprak, Friedl, Agu - Erras, Klaassen, Bittencourt - Chong, Selke, Jojo

Changes for the 2nd half:

Kapino - Gebre Selassie, Rieckmann, Friedl, Augustinsson - Eggestein, Schmid, Woltemade, Osako - Sargent, Füllkrug.

3-0 through Josh Sargent!

Lineup for the friendly against Austria Lustenau:

Pavlenka - Gebre Selassie, Toprak, Friedl, Augustinsson - Erras - M. Eggestein, Bittencourt - J. Eggestein, Selke, Chong.

Rashica was supposed to take part in the game, but left the stadium together with the club official  shortly before the kickoff. Could indicate that there's some movement in terms of transfers...

Yeah xD Was brought on in the second half, spent 15 minutes on the pitch and was then subbed off again. Apparently due to some blood circulation issues. Very bizarre.

Finally, Jojo Eggestein's midfield experiment is over and he's back to being a striker.

Hopefully he makes a breakthrough and lives up to his potential. Looking pretty good in the pre-season so far.

Now there's hoping Kohfeldt won't seriously consider converting Mbom into a right back.

It would be so nice to just play people in their proper positions this year. Hopefully the injuries are reasonable and Kohfeldt doesn't try to out think himself.

Welcome mate!

What's up with the Canadian/Werder connection?
