He played a 2-3-2-3 against west ham  might explain why Cancelo took the 7 jersey. Pep's used this formation before but not often

Pep, Klopp, and Tuchel all publicly stated their wing/full backs aren't defenders. They are just midfielders with defensive requirements, hence why they are all involved in the build up and attack.
