United's defence has been very good. They're playing with a highish line but aren't pressing too high, allowing City the ball and drawing them into what United are making a very compact area of the pitch, City not able to pass through the middle and with the pace United have in defence City aren't able to run in behind freely either.

I think the game is calling for Grealish and Rico Lewis, Lewis works perfectly as an inverted wing-back and City need more inward runs from deep to help unsettle United's midfield, especially as United are effectively playing a 4-2-4, the midfield is there to be overrun numerically.

I don't think United are doing a lot wrong, difficult to improve on what has been a good half for them. Think they could do with more direct running though, for them the game is screaming out for Garnacho.

I get that United need to defend and play on the counter, but it feels like Ten Haag is holding back a lot of the play that has shot them up the table. Need to be braver

Martial might be lazy but his link up wasn't too bad. Wonder if not having him as a focal point has affected us second half.

Really poor second half from Utd here. Now they are down, they really need to push forward a bit, City have strolled about since they scored.

Rashford surely interferes with play there?

Or is the rule that because he doesn't touch it it's deemed totally irrelevant? If so, fair enough.

The law is apparently it isn’t interfering if he doesn’t touch it, so by the rules it’s fine. Not sure I agree with that though, he definitely is interfering with the play.

The ball is clearly played to Rashford and he runs towards it. How is it not interference?

City players seen he was offside, guess you have to play to the whistle
