Or are you a fortune teller? I'm not saying I'm sure who'll win. There are favourites based on who's car performs better under conditions defined by the track(climate and layout). I already explained that actually. If Mercedes want to protect their tires in ultra hot conditions, they'd prolly need to change fundamentals of their suspension design such as GoG. Something like that can't be changed before the season's break, maybe not even until the season's end. Quote
God is Haaland Posted April 7, 2017 Posted April 7, 2017 There was so much smog that the training session had to be aborded. Quote

Moderator Tommy Posted April 9, 2017 Moderator Posted April 9, 2017 Decent race with lots of overtaking! Max from 16th to 3rd! Quote
God is Haaland Posted April 9, 2017 Posted April 9, 2017 (edited) Ferrari must be fuming about the decision to "release" the virtual safety car instead of the real one. That "undercut" cost Vettel about 15 seconds. Nice come back though. https://my.mixtape.moe/uuxage.mp4 https://my.mixtape.moe/gvdzef.mp4 https://my.mixtape.moe/rhlagj.mp4 https://my.mixtape.moe/jkzmls.mp4 https://my.mixtape.moe/dsusmy.mp4 https://my.mixtape.moe/otgceh.mp4 https://my.mixtape.moe/uoimbp.mp4 https://my.mixtape.moe/jqoxpx.mp4 https://my.mixtape.moe/bkixoj.mp4 Enjoy! I like Grosjean's move in particular. So spectacular! It looks like one of these moves kiddos on f1 2015 would try, except it worked without crashing the other driver off the track. Subscriber JoshBRFC+ Posted April 9, 2017 Subscriber Posted April 9, 2017 Quite enjoyed the race. Level going into the 3rd race. These 2 are just head and shoulders above the rest they really are. Battle between MV and DR will be interesting this season. Quote
Subscriber RandoEFC+ Posted April 9, 2017 Subscriber Posted April 9, 2017 A dull race after the start again. However, the tension of a championship battle can make dull races interesting just for the context of the season so hopefully we'll see it ebb and flow between Ferrari and Mercedes throughout the season. We haven't had a title fight between two top drivers from different teams with similar cars since 2008, best type of title fight for me. Quote
God is Haaland Posted April 14, 2017 Posted April 14, 2017 Finally Alonso will know what it feels like to sit in a proper car. Quote
Moderator Tommy Posted April 14, 2017 Moderator Posted April 14, 2017 I'm just happy that Jenson comes back, even if it's only for one race. Quote
God is Haaland Posted April 15, 2017 Posted April 15, 2017 The race and qualifying are starting pretty late in Bahrain. I wonder how much the lower track temperatures will help Mercedes. Quote
God is Haaland Posted April 15, 2017 Posted April 15, 2017 Mercedes drove a racing setup instead of an qualifying throughout out the entire training. They are really determined to not let their tires overheat during the race. I wonder if they can win the qualifying nonetheless, it would be massive for them. Quote

DeadLinesman Posted April 15, 2017 Posted April 15, 2017 Great finish from Bottas to pip Hamilton to the pole. Embarrassing to see Lauda celebrating more than him though Quote
Mazzari Posted April 15, 2017 Posted April 15, 2017 Good to see Bottas finally adjust today, would love to see him win tomorrow. Quote

The team have a good lead on Ferrari (around 0.300 of a second if reports are to be believed) so they should win the race in some form if they're starting from 1 and 2. In order to win a race the tires need to last a little longer than a couple of hot laps. It's difficult even for a team like Mercedes to fix an issue like overheating rear tires within a week. On the other hand Ferrari had trouble with their electronics. Edited April 15, 2017 by True Bender Quote
Moderator Tommy Posted April 15, 2017 Moderator Posted April 15, 2017 I wonder if Tony Ross will do his "haroooooo" on the team radio when Bottas wins. Quote
God is Haaland Posted April 16, 2017 Posted April 16, 2017 Fantastic start from Vettel who was able to overtake Hamilton in the first turn and is now able to pressure Bottas. Raikönnen has fallen behind on the 7th place, unable to help Vettel who's inside the Mercedes sandwich. Quote
God is Haaland Posted April 16, 2017 Posted April 16, 2017 Bottas is slowing Vettel down, but Vettel can't overtake either. Quote
God is Haaland Posted April 16, 2017 Posted April 16, 2017 (edited) Verstappen crashed and caused a yellow flag. It looked like a beginner's mistake, but it was probably a mechanical failure. Edited April 16, 2017 by True Bender Quote

God is Haaland Posted April 16, 2017 Posted April 16, 2017 (edited) This safety car was a massive help for Mercedes, but Vettel is ahead of Bottas nonetheless. Vettel now needs to drive fast enough to prevent Bottas from overtaking him, but at the sam time he needs to keep Bottas close enough to cause wear on Bottas' tires with his slip stream. After lap 35 Vettel needs to maintain a lead bigger than 1s in order to prevent Bottas from using his DRS. Edited April 16, 2017 by True Bender Quote
