Yes, like @nudge, they have to be fresh, I don't like any of the canned shite or if they are used in cooking, the best fruit I have ever tasted was growing up in Australia and plums were one of them.

Fresh plums are delicious, up on the top tier with fresh nectarines.

Hate the ones which are rock hard. I prefer them to be soft and juicy. Same with tangerines, soft and juicy are easier to peel than harder tangerines.

It's plum roulette with the ones you get at the supermarket. You never know until you bite into it whether it is off or not.
