Looks like the drinks threads have been archived and locked from what I can see so, what are the best or worse of the latter you like or dislike? I know from my army days I liked Carlsburg and still do today or a Carling Black Label.

The wife picked these up from Iceland for the new year as we both only like bottled beers or lagers and not cans, anybody tried these and what are they like?

It's a very nice one! A tasty Czech lager, nothing like its American competitor...

How did you like the Budvar, @CaaC (John)?

Not bad, getting back onto the bottled beer/lager again instead of wine, the wife is supping a bottle of the Bud right now, I still loved my Carlberg or 'Carlys' as we called those in my army days back in the camp NAAFI, got pissed many a night back then in Germany 1970's. :drunk:

Yes, I tend toward the lagers. Budweiser quite good, but I do prefer Holsten. Bud has had a much better sales pitch over the years. Holsten is now owned by Danish Carlsberg, which is an awful drink. Strange how that worked out. Locally Fosters & the actually local Carling tend to be the most readily available from the barrel lagers in pubs & restaurants.

Wines with meals. Spirits & liqueurs for special occasions. Any other occasion, a nice cold lager, or perhaps a Guinness.

People still active on there? Might start using it again if so. Not instead of this just aswell as, I’ve been using it for other things anyway.

Yes, there's quite a few people still on there.

Our sons popped in for a visit and bought 2 dozen of these in, I prefer bottle lagers/beers really but I am not going to argue, he works as a supermarket assistant manager and spotted these just sitting there getting dusty. :drunk:
