LFCMike Posted April 27 Posted April 27 Taylor blowing up when Areola releases the ball is just blatant cheating. There's no reason for him to blow his whistle 1 Quote
Reluctant Striker Posted April 27 Posted April 27 1 point doesn't really surprise me. 3rd match with them this season & they've turned up for a contest all 3 times. 7 points between 4th & 5th. Over to Spurs for a run of Arsenal, Chelsea & Liverpool.. It might get close, but right now it feels better to have actual points on the board. And that 1 point mathematically confirms it is only Spurs that can catch Villa. Different slant to put on it than any media are likely doing. Quote
Subscriber RandoEFC+ Posted April 27 Subscriber Posted April 27 Dyche really was on the precipice with our fans after the Chelsea drubbing but three consecutive wins has turned it into a decent season overall. Without deductions, Everton would be joint 12th with Brighton on 44 points, closer to Spurs in 5th (16 points behind) than the relegation zone (19 points clear). Probably be looking at our current form and the next two against Luton and Sheffield United as an opportunity for six more points and a decent chance of sneaking into the top half. At this point, even if Everton had been deducted the 17 points that the Premier League submitted to the PSR commissions instead of 8, they still wouldn't be in the relegation zone. Yes we've been a bit fortunate with the weakness of the competition at the bottom end of the table but regardless of that, we could easily hit 40 points now even after being deducted 8 and that's usually more than enough whoever else is in the relegation scrap. Some of these facts are hard to believe for a side that survived on the last day last season, saw the squad weakened and thinned out over the summer and haven't had a board, owner or leader of any description all season. Credit must now go to Dyche and his team and they need full backing heading into next season. Quote

With little investment into the team, the difference he has made compared to how you have played the last two seasons versus this season is immense. To achieve what he has under points deductions, previous managers would have taken you down. I hope he gets a chance long-term to build something with you. He consistently out performed Eddie Howe when they were at Burnley and Bournemouth when taking into account money spent and look what Howe has done at Newcastle. Not to say that Dyche would necessarily be better now, but I hope he gets s chance to spend some cash and build a team. Quote

To be fair, he did lose his way with a 13 game winless run and the 6-0 to Chelsea shortly after. You can't have results like that at any level and not have serious questions asked. Thankfully we don't have an owner around to sack him and it's turned out for the best. Quote

It's a obvious foul , but Onana taking out the Burnley player has no effect on whether a goal is scored. Wan Bissaka wins the header and the ball is cleared before Onana makes contact with the Burnley player. What about an indirect free kick in the box instead of a penalty? It's the kind of foul that dictates it should be a penalty though. Doesn't matter if there's no effect on whether a goal is scored? Quote

This season has been great, pitty that Liverpool have stumbled a little though the fight for Europa goes down to 12th place mathematically are still in the Europa fight although if ourselves and Yanited win next time out it will only be West ham and Chelsea in it. The bottom is still a good fight going. Quote
Danny Posted April 28 Posted April 28 The commentator has just called Saka the local boy, geography not his strong point lol Quote
Danny Posted April 28 Posted April 28 Also, absolute terrible defending from Spurs there. Not sure who it was, Davies? Could see all day Saka wanted to cut in, just force him onto his right, gives the keeper a better ideas as to where the ball goes too Quote
Dave Posted April 28 Posted April 28 Vicario feels like a weakness. Arsenal can just pick their spot at set pieces and he’s glued to his line. Quote

It must hurt them watching this game, seeing the goalkeeper that they would have had a free run at if they'd just spent £30m and instead they now have to put up with Vicario as Raya slots nicely into Arsenal's dominant defence. Dave Posted April 28 Posted April 28 Arsenal have been clinical so far. It may have been a different game if VAR had checked Gabriel's booty for Van de Ven's goal. Quote
Lucas Posted April 28 Posted April 28 (edited) Arsenal have played this to a tee. Been so calm, especially without the ball which they haven't seen loads of. Perfect away performance so far. Tottenham look like they miss a real cutting edge to all the promising play. Just get to the penalty area and then draw a blank. I feel like they'd rather have Son on the left than middle and a natural forward as a presence in the box. Edited April 28 by Lucas Quote
Administrator Stan Posted April 28 Author Administrator Posted April 28 Spurs will roll over just as much against Man City too you'd expect. Quote
Danny Posted April 28 Posted April 28 I didn't think it was a penalty on Kulusevski at first, the contact was soft and it was him tripping over his own foot that causes him to go down. But without that trip, he doesn't do any of it. Don't think it's a clanger not giving it but definitely the wrong decision the more I watch it back. Quote

Subscriber RandoEFC+ Posted April 28 Subscriber Posted April 28 You can't hand momentum over like that in a Derby like this with so much on the line. Quote
Administrator Stan Posted April 28 Author Administrator Posted April 28 How does Oliver miss that Quote
Administrator Stan Posted April 28 Author Administrator Posted April 28 Also shouldn't need to be told to go to the screen. Quote
