Moderator Tommy Posted June 27 Moderator Posted June 27 Tah is suspended and Rüdiger is doubtful. We might play with two completely new center backs. I'm still hopeful that Rüdiger will recover in time though. Quote
Dave Posted June 27 Posted June 27 Whilst I expect Germany to win despite the injuries in defence I am more interested to see what kind of fight Denmark put up. Will there three at the back and combative midfielders be hard to get past and Germany win by the odd Fullkrug goal? Or will Musiala, Wentz, Gundogan and Havertz run riot early and we have to concede that the standard of attacking quality in Group C was Championship level. Quote
Administrator Stan Posted June 27 Author Administrator Posted June 27 Havertz or Fullkrug up against Vestergaard will be fun to watch... Quote

Moderator Tommy Posted June 28 Moderator Posted June 28 Antonio Rüdiger was able to participate in the final training. So that's encouraging. Quote
Subscriber Coma+ Posted June 28 Subscriber Posted June 28 The Athletic is saying he'll start. I would assume Schlotterbeck will be the partner. Quote
Rucksackfranzose Posted June 28 Posted June 28 Would prefer Anton, due to Schlotterbeck having a slight tendency to be sloppy. Quote
Michael Posted June 29 Posted June 29 Rudiger starts with Schlotterbeck in central defence. Havertz maintains his position up-front, so Fullkrug will start on the bench once again. However, Florian Wirtz is dropped and Leroy Sane comes in for him. Quote

Moderator Tommy Posted June 29 Moderator Posted June 29 Hmm, at most I expected Füllkrug for Havertz. I did not expect Sané for Wirtz. Quote

Yeah, I don't know why he's dropped Wirtz and I don't get why he's still being stubborn by starting Havertz over Füllkrug. Well I do know why he's started him, because he explained why, but I don't agree with him. I think starting with Füllkrug was an obvious choice, given the excellent form he is in and his style of play. Quote
Michael Posted June 29 Posted June 29 Schlotterbeck heads the ball into the net, but the referee has disallowed the effort! Quote
Michael Posted June 29 Posted June 29 A lovely long range shot by Kimmich is well saved by Schmeichel! Quote
Michael Posted June 29 Posted June 29 Schlotterbeck with another header forces another good save by Schmeichel! Germany have started really strongly here. Quote
Michael Posted June 29 Posted June 29 Andrich then has a header at goal but it's straight at Schmeichel. All these chances and there's only been 10 minutes played. Germany are definitely on top here. Quote
Michael Posted June 29 Posted June 29 Musiala skips past a challenge and then has a long range effort go wide of the post. Quote
Michael Posted June 29 Posted June 29 There's plenty of lightening in Dortmund and it looks like the referee has stopped the play for a bit. Quote
