Pretty much everybody in the team had a great game, couldn’t really ask for more. 5 from 5 now and you’d expect us to win the last games as well. Hopefully our injuries are bad, but the Konate one in particular has me worried. Quote

Michael Posted November 28 Posted November 28 The PSV v Shakhtar Donetsk match was a very entertaining match to watch. Sikan gave Shakhtar the lead, as he met Konoplya's cross with a shot that beat PSV keeper Benitez and found the corner of the net. Konoplya would then set up Shaktar's 2nd goal in the 36th minute. Konoplya won the ball off of Dams, he then ran and crossed the ball to Zubkov, who lined up the ball and found the back of the net with an accurate shot into the corner of the net. That gave Shakhtar a 2-0 lead away from home in Eindhoven. Shakhtar looked relatively comfortable with their lead, but then Shakhtar's Pedrinho got sent off for a terrible challenge on Bakayoko. PSV then pushed to find a goal and it was only in the 87th minute that they scored. Malik Tillman took a free-kick, he shot towards the near post, where Riznyk managed to save the ball, but the ball had crossed the line and the referee awarded the goal. Tillman would then score he 2nd goal with a superb powerful shot from outside the area, which Riznyk had not chance in saving. It was a lovely strike by Tillman, but PSV would become even more elated when Pepi scored the winning goal 5 minutes into injury time. It was a great comeback by PSV, while Shakhtar will rue the fact that they couldn't hold on and that they had Pedrinho sent-off. But the match itself was full of action and drama. Bradley had a superb game against Mbappe but I wonder if Vinicus would have tested him more and given Real more confidence. It was interesting that Bellingham said Liverpool were more hungry for the win. You don't usually hear that from Real players. Quote

I honestly think Vinicius would have changed the way Real attacked that game. I'm not taking anything away from the performance but Mbappe was pretty much non-existent in that game and if you had an actual threat down that side you wouldn't have seen Conor running around in the middle or offering pass options to McAllister and Curtis so far up the pitch. I still think out of Trent and Bradley I'd prefer Bradley playing against Vinicius just because he's got a lot more defensively in his locker and his chasing game is a lot better. Quote
Subscriber RandoEFC+ Posted November 28 Subscriber Posted November 28 I thought Real Madrid held their own quite well in midfield and defence considering how many injuries they had. The game-plan was a good one because there were some gaps to exploit on the break. Their passing in the final third was terrible though so they fell down on execution. Liverpool were able to commit more men forward because Mbappe and co. weren't turning their breakaways into chances and as soon as they scored, Real Madrid's game-plan was basically ruined. Quote
