Subscriber RandoEFC+ Posted December 6 Subscriber Posted December 6 West Ham vs Wolves is the El Sackico of all El Sackicos isn't it? Both managers have been reported as essentially dead men walking with West Ham having Potter lined up and Wolves supposedly only keeping O'Neil this long because they haven't identified a replacement yet. Seems weird (from West Ham's perspective) that Lopetegui could win and still be sacked. Why not just sack him now, and if Potter isn't ready then get an interim in anyway. Just prolonging the inevitable. And then it'd be typical for Wolves to swoop in and get Potter instead 1 Quote

I'm not convinced sacking the manager so early is the best thing to do. Sometimes you have to give time for things to click. West ham aren't likely to go down they can afford to give him some time. It would be interesting to analyse some data. I'd fairly certain it would prove a bit of consistency is better. Quote
Subscriber Dan+ Posted December 6 Subscriber Posted December 6 It's a tough game but I don't think it's some kind of write off. This is a team that Southampton, Ipswich and Wolves have all taken a point off this season. They have two days less rest than us off the back of playing away while we played at home. Logistically this isn't a good one for them. The obvious blow for us is Buonanotte can't play. I think it reeks of a draw myself. Quote

I’m all for giving managers time when performances are good even if results are poor. But sometimes a manager is an awful fit at a club, and imo this is one of those situations Quote

Villa are a prime example of making a change and taking that gamble for the better when they signed Emery. Brighton as well when they got rid of Hughton and got Potter. Bournemouth too when they got Iraola. Quote

LFCMike Posted December 7 Posted December 7 Obviously everyone's safety is the priority but from a football perspective I don't mind that too much. The game would have been even worse than it normally is at Goodison in those conditions. Quote

Depending on what state we're in when it comes around, I don't think that's Liverpool's dream scenario either. One of my mates from work was due to fly over and watch it with his Dad but their flights got cancelled last night because of the storm so glad for him that he'll get the chance still when it's rearranged. Anyway, this means that Everton have new owners by the time we play our next match. If so, the Moshiri era very undeservingly concludes with a 4-0 victory . Quote

Not a bad thing for us that this has been postponed though with the injuries and suspensions we currently have on the back of a tough few weeks. Quote
Rick Posted December 7 Posted December 7 Would have been a very difficult game to manage in these conditions, but on the other hand, Chelsea, Arsenal and City have the chance to cut the points gap and all we can do is watch. Quote
Administrator Stan Posted December 7 Author Administrator Posted December 7 I'd have thought Liverpool would be a bit gutted they can't play this Everton side at this time, with Dyche on his last legs too. But then I guess if it's rearranged for some time in February/March, they may have a lot more of their squad back... Quote
