Azeem
I think Vietnam is almost done, no way can they match the physicalty of Iranian forwards like Torabi, Azmoun etc whom i can see put at least three past them.
Subscriber nudge+ Posted January 8, 2019 Subscriber Share Posted January 8, 2019 Yeah, losing this one basically means the end of the competition as Iran will have no problems with both Vietnam and Iraq, and I don't see Iraq losing against Yemen either... heartbreaking to lose so late in the game after leading twice, but they struggled physically (especially in the air) against a much stronger Iraq side throughout the second half and could really have used a tall strong striker like Nguyen Anh Duc upfront. Guest
I had no idea Ali Adnan had made the jump to bigger leagues. I remember being impressed by his technical capabilities and set piece delivery in the U20 World Cup 2013. Glad he's not a lost cause.

Subscriber Mel81x+ Posted January 9, 2019 Subscriber Share Posted January 9, 2019 Good game by Japan who in the end did quite well to get out of this game with a win. I think Turkmenistan gave a good account of themselves too and I hope they get out of this group and go to further.

Subscriber Mel81x+ Posted January 9, 2019 Subscriber Share Posted January 9, 2019 So looking at the tables so far it looks pretty standard-fare with a proper pack leader, the only real exception being the last group but I fully expect Japan to come out on top there even though they nearly drew today. For me, they are the ones to take this competition as they'll only get better as it goes along. I am looking forward to our late game against the UAE tomorrow and I have this gut feeling we're going to win it too and ease the pressure going into the final game of the group. Bahrain played much better than UAE, so you have a good chance of beating them.

Subscriber nudge+ Posted January 10, 2019 Subscriber Share Posted January 10, 2019 0-0 in Bahrain v Thailand so far, Bahrain dominating, they have been a better team but haven't done much to take the lead. Poor by Thailand, they seem to have lost all confidence and just lose possession way too fast and commit too many fouls trying to win the ball back; it will be hard to defend with both CBs on a yellow card now... Teerasil & Adisak absolutely awful up front. Thailand definitely lose this one too if they don't improve in the second half; they need much more quality in the final 3rd and their midfielders need to step up as well. The only improvement from the India match is Siwarak in goal with a few decent saves already.
