They declared a “state of war” - apparently that’s like declaring a state of emergency.
Azeem
This could kick off something huge if Russia and Turkey also jump in, unlikely though
Azeem
These recent clashes in Karabakh might be because of a pipeline Turkey is building to bypass Russia and Iran to access Caspian Sea through Azerbaijan

The Armenian Ministry of Defense is alleging a Turkish fighter pilot shot down an Armenian fighter pilot & killed him - Ankara has denied it. If this is true it would represent a pretty massive escalation here.

Dr. Gonzo
This isn't entirely surprising, because London's been the centre of shady money laundering for a long time now... but how long can this carry on before the public demands we stop cleaning money for tinpot dictators like Aliyev? https://www.theguardian.com/world/2017/sep/04/uk-at-centre-of-secret-3bn-azerbaijani-money-laundering-and-lobbying-scheme
Bluewolf
Jacinda Ardern has won a second term in office for New Zealand... Ms Ardern told roaring crowds: "Thank you to the people who worked so hard to share our message. Who volunteered in what felt like an endless campaign. "But most importantly thank you to the many people who gave us their vote, who trusted us to continue with leading New Zealand's recovery. "And to those amongst you who may not have supported Labour before - and the results tell me there were a few of you - to you I say thank you. "We will not take your support for granted. And I can promise you we will be a party that governs for every New Zealander." Ms Ardern's party was on track to win almost 50% of the vote as results rolled in on Saturday, while the opposition had under 30%. It comes after her popularity soared earlier this year after she led a successful effort to combat the coronavirus crisis in New Zealand. There is currently no community spread of COVID-19 in the nation of five million and people are no longer required to wear masks or socially distance. When just around 100 people had tested positive for COVID-19 in late March, Ms Ardern put New Zealand into a strict lockdown with a motto of "go hard and go early". She and her health officials shut the borders and outlined an ambitious goal of eliminating the virus entirely rather than just trying to control its spread. Since New Zealand had advantage of being an isolated island nation, the strategy worked.
Azeem
Speaking of isolated island nation, theoretically New Zealand will be the safest place in case of global nuclear conflict

Subscriber CaaC (John)+ Posted October 19, 2020 Subscriber Share Posted October 19, 2020 (edited) Quote ‘Alien Attack’: Panic as Unidentified Object Spotted in Sky Over India’s Greater Noida According to local media, a flying object reminiscent of the Marvel character Iron man was observed in the sky, prompting some residents of India's Uttar Pradesh state to call the police. The Saturday morning turned dramatic for many people in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh’s Dankaur district, near the city of Noida: they were shocked to notice a weird robot-like figure flying high in the sky. But all burst into laughter after learning that it was just a balloon shaped like the comic character Iron Man floating in the air. “It was a balloon filled with helium gas that had gone up in the sky and later came down and got stuck in the bushes along the canal near Bhatta Parsaul village,” Dankaur District Police Officer Anil Kumar Pandey told Indian news agency PTI on Sunday. “A part of the balloon was touching the flowing water in the canal which had led the balloon to shake a little ... unknown to the spectators; they became anxious after seeing this,” he added. https://sputniknews.com/india/202010181080808425-alien-attack-panic-as-unidentified-object-spotted-in-sky-over-indias-greater-noida-/ Edited October 19, 2020 by CaaC (John)
