Possible that a group may consist France, Portugal and Iceland in addition to a pot 1 team.

This is the most interesting draw for a tournament due to the seeding/multiple host Nations/political conflicts

1 group is 3/4 complete over a week before the draw!

russia host Belgium pot 1 and Denmark host

not bad for Belgium. Missing France and Portugal

also quite a bit of travel involved in the final tournament too. As it moves to the knockouts

Portugal haven't beaten Germany in a major tournament for quite a while now but this time I'm sure they will win.

Decent group for Austria. No chance against the Netherlands, Ukraine will be tough but manageable, and the potential fourth teams look weaker than in other groups. If Romania qualifies then they'll be the last team in Group C (due to Bukarest being one of the venues of this group). I could see Austria making it through to the knockout rounds either as second or best third-placed team.

Tough group for Germany.

Group F is clearly the Group of Death! The defending Champions Portugal are place with probably the two favorites to win the Euros, Germany and France. It's a ridiculously strong group.

Austria has to play the playoff winner in Romania and then travel to Netherlands to play the host team and then travel back to Romania to play Ukraine. While Ukraine play the Dutch and then travel to Romania for their last two group games.  Nice fair play scheduling UEFA!!

two countries hosting a 4 team group was a dumb idea.

Germany getting tough draws lately. Nations league draw was the worst with Netherlands and France.

The euro qualifying group drew the Dutch again. Germany were lucky to be winners of that group.

And now France and Portugal and potentially Iceland.

Potentially 4 league A teams in one group hardly seems even across the board.

Italy had easy qualifying group and easy draw today. Guess UEFA wants to ensure to make up for Italy missing out on World Cup '18.

The second placed team of group F plays winner of group d, which should be England...

i didn't have expectations for Germany going deep in the tournament coming into the draw today, but now don't think they will get out of group.

Turkey will play all their three games in Baku, Azerbaijan. It will be like playing in front of home as Azerbaijan is like a vessel state of Turkey

Yes, but there is a reason for that. It's because of the seeding system used. Ukraine finished top of their group during the qualifiers, while Austria only finished second in their group. All the teams who finished first in their respective qualifying groups, are supposedly rewarded in terms of where they play and how much they have to travel when it comes to the main competition.

All the fixtures and venues are decided well in advance, so teams know from the start, that they will be rewarded this way if they finished first in their group.

I totally agree, Germany have a very tought draw, just like being drawn the Netherlands during the qualifiers. With France and Portugal in their group, it hardly gets much tougher. The Italians had a really easy group during the qualifiers and now they have a relatively easy group at the finals. Switzerland are a very good team, but I wouldn't say that they are one of the elite national teams. They will be Italy's main challenge in the group though(at least on paper). Turkey are not great to be honest, they have seen better days. While Wales have a relatively young team. They still have some exciting offensive players including Bale and other youngsters coming through. But their defensive midfield positions(Allen hasn't played as well as he used to, Morrel is a League 1 standard player and Ampadu is still a teenager lacking a lot of experience) and their defence, looks very average in my opinion.

The seeding system is supposed to make things relatively fair when the draw is made, but sometimes you get an obvious unfair outcome in terms of the teams you are drawn against. Germany and Italy's groups are a classic example of that.

Play-off path D, looks by far the weakest Play-off path. All those teams could be real whipping boys if they end up in Group F(the Group of Death!). Kosovo are probably the strongest of the teams in that path though, in my opinion.

The tournament will be won by a team who finishes 3rd in their group with 1 point.

Still can’t believe Portugal were crowned winners last time, finishing 3rd in your crop should not mean you go through to the KO stages

Portugal also only won one game within 90 minutes during the whole tournament.

Champions indeed.

With this new system, the winner probably  will come from a playoff path.  It's Murphy's law

Even with these rules I don't think Ireland will win it.

Yes Ukraine won their group but still do some traveling. Netherlands who did not win their group get to play all 3 at home.

The draw decided the order of matches and so some teams travel back and forth more than others

interesting.

Germany are being paid back now finally after all those years.
