  2. I should imagine a lot of fans will want anyone but Leeds but probably for entirely different reasons. Personally, it will feel a massive injustice if we don't go up having had the season we've had. Farke, in the main has done an astonishing job with what he inherited. If we'd started the season without those issues and Farke had more time pre season to build his team how he wanted it, I think we probably go up as Champions you know. Would agree though, you'll be hard pushed to get as good a Championship season all round as that one has provided and I'm sure the playoffs will be dramatic, especially with us in them.
  3. Yeah it helps if you get a good start for sure. Pleased with 46th overall, especially after a bad start. Think i did well in the final third of the season and positioned myself well with the 3 chips used. So I guess that means I've won our pre season bet between you, me and @JoshBRFC
  4. Also just completely blind to the fact that they have been a key reason as to why people don't vote; austerity, windrush, covid handouts, small boats, rwanda, culture wars....none of which gives anyone a better life.
  5. Do you not think that between the fact that they're a relative unknown and the bearpit that Portmand Road will become will give them a good chance of picking points up next season? I think momentum is so important in the first season, remember how good it was for Sheff Utd under Wilder the first time around? On a side note, I remember watching Burnley earlier in the season and they were just not well drilled defensively, wasn't just a player issue, Kompany's coaching at that point wasn't up to scratch. I think it's taken him most of the season to begin to get it right.

  7. Iraq has just made homosexuality and transgenderism illegal and punishable by imprisonment. We keep seeing flagrant human rights abuses in a region that simply care about western liberties. In 2020 turkey aided Al Bashir kill Kurdish opposition to Al Bashir, because Istanbul branded the Syrian Democratic Movement a terrorist group, this is while turkey actively supports ethnic cleansing of Armenians. Of course human rights abuses only become an issue when Israel is involved and the reason the power nations dont challenge each other is because if one goes down they will open the dirty laundry of others. If israel is persecuted the so must russia, the US, UK, Iran, Saudi, Turkey, Azerbaijan, Yemen, Palestine, iraq, syria, china, north Korea, Myanmar, ukraine and France. Not to sound cliche but war never changes and will never change no matter how much you try make rules. The symptoms of the turmoil seen to be the only thing people attach virtue to without looking at causes and solutions. Ariel Sheron ceded Gaza to the PA under the intention of sustainable peace, since then attacks on israel have gone from decades apart to yearly, in that time has there ever been any semblance of fundamental human rights in palastine? The answer is no, so if they treat their own badly then what prospect is their for peace unless there is a fundamental shift in ideology of Palastinians.
  8. It was a shock result in many ways, given how well Villa have played this season. Credit to Olympiacos though, they have proved what a tough outfit they are. El Kaabi their Moroccan forward particularly impressed with his hattrick. But with attacking players of the quality of Watkins, Diaby and Bailey in their team, there is always hope that Villa can turn the result of this tie around. Its obviously a very tough task for them though.
  9. Spurs have been slapped up the last few weeks, so it’s nice for them to end that run today against us. Because I expect another bollocks result & performance from us. I’ve no expectations from us for the rest of this season, so a convincing win would be a lovely surprise.
  10. Arsenal need to win out and hope city drop points, which is not looking great and between man united or Spurs, relying on either team is not a good way to hedge bets, man united are more capable of stunting arsenal than Spurs are of City, this is not the Conte first season Spurs that were resilient, this spurs team is more open than a porn star.
  11. Makes me laugh when Tories talk about voter apathy as if that only works against one side. Well, they're also staying at home not voting for you, either...
  12. Danke euch!
  13. What's the plans for my team...
  14. End up last as well due to the 3-place grid penalty.
  15. Good luck to them and it's a shame Sir Bobby Robson is not around now to see his former club return back to the big time after managing them for 13 years.
  16. Don’t forget they said Shorten has a square shaped head, so I don’t know; don’t vote for him. Ironic considering the actual shape of Scomo’s noggin. Also ironic that Albanese was the safe candidate and Shorten not, given the former is from the Left faction. Labor didn’t win, Liberals lost. The tenuous grasp Labor has on Australia is a million times stronger than Labour UK, and that’s tough.

  18. Yeah there's a large Rupert Murdoch sized shadow hanging over both of these elections. The greatest shame about Corbyn's Labour is that after the election hammering against Johnson's Tories, the polling showed that actually, the policy platform put forward by Labour which was centre left by most developed countries' measures but deemed quite "extremist" in the political climate that dominates the UK (and the US and Australia from what little I understand but my knowledge is mediocre so I might be wrong) was largely popular. Corbyn himself was a sitting duck having shared a platform with various anti-semites and referred to the likes of Hamas and Hezbollah as "friends". A more "conservative-looking" leader like Starmer could probably have run on a similar, fairly progressive policy platform without that personal baggage and had success because the right wing press can't really find much ammunition against him but he's played it very safe and, if anything, picked a fight with the lefty wing of the Labour party. Centrism is better than the pretty xenophobic offer that the Tories have put forward since the referendum but Starmer has been given an open goal really and I can only hope that Labour's manifesto going into the next election is more progressive than what he has led us to expect.
  19. Literally Australias 2019 election problem. The Labor candidate presented ideas that were good, significant, and would cause the nation to develop for the better. Of course this threatened the status quo and he was buried in an avalanche of muck by the media, just like Corbyn. So next election they ran a safe election with boring mild policy changes catered to offend no one but do less. You get what you vote for.
  20. What a day of football in Spain as Real Madrid brushed aside Cadiz 3-0 in Madrid, thanks to goals from Diaz, Bellingham and Joselu. It was yet another win for Real Madrid and the fans then waited for the result of the Girona v Barcelona match. Real Madrid 3-0 Cadiz Girona hosted Barcelona, but it was Barca who took an early lead in the 3rd minute through a Christiansen right footed shot, that found the back of the net. But Girona responded less than a minute later, as Dovbyk scored with a towering header. That goal was Dovbyk's 20th La Liga goal of the season, as he remains the leading scorer in the league. Barcelona were then awarded a penalty, which Lewandowski stood up to take and Lewandowski scored from the penalty. But Girona then equalised when Dovbyk turned provider, as he passed the ball to Portu in front of goal, and Portu put the ball in the back of the net. Miguel Guiterrez then gave Girona the lead, as his deflected shot found the net. A 2nd goal for Portu and a magnificent volleyed goal by him made the reault 4-2 to Girona and sealed the win for them. This win for Girona made them overtake Barcelona, as Girona moved into 2nd place in the La Liga table. But more critically, Girona's win meant that Real Madrid had won the La Liga title and become champions of Spain once again. Girona 4-2 Barcelona
  21. Hilarious. According to "vibes" over the past couple of days, Susan Hall was actually going to run Sadiq Khan close in London and maybe actually sneak a win. Then after the actual counting, Khan wins a third term with his greatest margin yet. Then later in the day Labour win the West Midlands mayoralty ahead of relatively popular Tory incumbent Andy Street. Days of conservative-leaning columnists pontificating about Labour needing to do more to win a majority at the next general election, up in smoke. Conclusions from these local elections. Tory disaster. Labour lose some lefty votes to Greens and Independents but overall on course for a landslide majority at the general election. Genuinely going to see their seat count into the 400s and the Tories below 200.
  22. Two no-shows this time. We haven't managed all ten people predicting for 4 races in a row. Predictions were posted on Tuesday morning so I tried .
  23. Love to see Arsenal deny City but it just won't happen. As I said since Liverpool drew at Old Trafford, City don't and won't blink if you put it in their hands regardless of whether there's 3 or 23 games to the end of the season. Fulham, Spurs, West Ham, prove me wrong.
  24. It's a fantastic achievement. If you don't know anything about them keep an eye out for Leif Davis. I imagine all the FPL content creators will be jerking over him once they read up on his 'underlying numbers'. Wes Burns has something about him too. My big worry for them is I see a lot of parallels between them and Vincent Kompany's Burnley. They're impressive going forwards, everyone buys in to the manager, but defensively I'm not sure if the center backs and Hladcky are going to be good enough. Then there's players like Morsy, Luongo, Chaplin who have spent there career being low Championship / very good League One players playing in a system that gets the best out of them that may also struggle. Hopefully if it is one season and down they look at what Luton have done and set themselves up in a good position where, even if relegated, the long term prospects of the club look healthy.
  25. End to what has been an enjoyable season. Birmingham will be kicking themselves that they've gone down on 50 points but at least they have owners who you'd have faith in to continue to take the club forwards. Under previous regimes you'd worry for them. I'd fancy them to come up at the first attempt and I'd fancy Rotherham to be competitive with Steve Evans as Manager. Huddersfield I have no idea about as, based on there managers quotes this week, that club seems to be disarray at all levels and a major overhaul appears needed. As for the sides that stayed up today, you'd feel that any celebrations will be kept to a minimum. Blackburn's cash flow appears to be a long term concern, Danny Rohl will be on shortlists after the job hes done at Wednesday and Plymouth really need to get the next managerial appointment right whilst strengthening the squad. Given Portsmouth, Derby and (presumably) Bolton look suitably equipped to compete at this level it wouldnt surprise if all three teams feature down the bottom of predictions come August. The playoffs feel a bit underwhelming for a neutral as its scattered with teams that have been in The Premiership recently. At least if Hull had made the playoffs there would be a team there that's been away from The Premiership long enough that and been through enough rebuilds that the stench from the last time they were up isn't there any more. A side of me from a competitive aspect wants 'anyone but Leeds' to win the playoffs as I believe with the attacking threat and loan returnees that Leeds would have the best chance of survival out of all Championship teams next season. Leicester's reported financial issues you'd imagine will restrict them from potentially competing for a top half finish to a lets just survive next season objective, whilst i see a lot of similarities with this Ipswich team and Vincent Kompany's Burnley. Oh, and one thing, we cannot underestimate any more what an incredible achievement it was for a Reading side built on what was tight budget for naughties standards to get 106 points. The Leicester starting XI on paper is one of the best to enter The Championship with Newcastle in 2010 and Nuno's Wolves and even they missed out on breaking the record with six games to go.
  26. Aaaand it's back to reality for Danny Ric. P18 and out in Q1.
