  1. That's our daughter ear-marked a wee kitten from a friend for September as the mother cat gave birth today with 4 kittens and our daughter has chosen one and wee Kaiden has called her Puddin, I don't know why Puddin? The daughter said she won't be buying any more pet rats as their life span is too short and Kaiden is always heartbroken when one dies, that's 3 rats the daughter has lost now in the last 6 months and vet bills cost a bomb nowadays.

  4. Had the same thought earlier. Saw a couple of drivers do this and I was thinking 'what the fuck are you doing? You're on your own in your car. Literally no need to wear one if you're the only one there

  5. Got tickets for Wimbledon today. Court 1 on the missus' birthday so using that as one of her birthday presents. We both love Nadal so a sickener he won't be there but I'll just be glad to finally go! Will be mens QF day so hopefully get to see some decent play.

  7. I wear a mask in the car sometimes, but not because of catching Covid just because I can't be arsed putting it in the door storage and taking it out again, I'll just stick the mask on and it's one less job to do. @DeadLinesman told me that he sneezes on vegetables in the supermarket and puts them back, so not something that I'd be listening to personally.

  8. If you wear a mask on your own in the car, you should be reported to Operation Yewtree.

  9. I remember at the start of the pandemic, I asked @DeadLinesman if I should wear a mask in the car and he said something that amounted to "but... it's your fucking car" So I don't think I've ever worn the mask in my car other than the times when I've forgotten to take it off after getting back in the car... so I'll take it off mid-drive. But I've definitely seen loads of people driving around with masks on. Even now when I'm in a similar situation to you where everyone over 17 here has had at least 1 jab (but over 60% of adults have both jabs now, pretty decent stat for the city I live in)... but you still will sometimes see people wearing masks in their car. Which is bizarre because I went to a supermarket after our restrictions had ended and I think I only saw about 2 people still wearing masks.

  10. I've noticed a weird phenomenon the Isle of Man. We're currently totally restriction-free, hopefully for good this time, all adults have had at least one jab so any hand sanitising and mask-wearing is pure personal choice and not even advised by the government. The thing I've noticed is that more than half of the people I see wearing masks are in cars, which I find weird, as in the car with the people you live with (presumably) is the lowest risk of catching or transmitting the virus. Even when mask-wearing was compulsory or recommended, I used to take mine off in the car and just put it on when I was in public. Don't see many taking the precaution in shops or walking down the street or in school. Just a bit of an oddity and wondered if anyone else has noticed the same. At first I thought the sample size was too small to draw any conclusions but I kept seeing it again and again.

  12. Haroon Rahim was a Pakistani tennis player that reached a career high of 34 in singles ranking, first Asian to enter top 40. He won some opens and won some tight matches against top players like Jimmy Connors. He wanted to marry an American woman but his family disapproved and severed ties with him. He married that woman but marriage didn't last long. He became an addict/hippie and was last seen in Nepal at a Guru's place. His whereabouts are not known ever since.

  13. I have a friend here who was born in Israel and has family there - they left a few years after Rabin was assassinated because they felt that the political culture there was very much culminating in something very ugly. And they were right - I think Israel's always been an ethnostate since it's creation - but the situation has just been gradually getting worse and worse since Rabin's assassination. So in the people I know in my life personally, the most vocally anti-Israeli government person I know is... an Israeli. He gets some pretty horrible comments when he makes posts online by virtue of being Jewish and being vocal against Israeli policies.
