The ancient city of Baghdad ( capital of Abbasid Empire ) was built completely round. Naubakht and Ibn-e-Athari were the master city planners. This city model is taught in architecture and town planning schools as one of the finest examples of city infrastructure and planning even till today. The city was completely sacked by Mongols such that the river Euphrates turned black because of all the ink from the books of central library.

Kind of linked to this, I only learnt the other day that drinking beer and curry/spicy food is one of the worst things to do - drinking beer makes the food 'spicier' as it is an 'irritant' for your tastebuds. The spice chemical in the foods clings on to the receptors, and beer isn't effective in calming this feeling down. It might feel like temporary relief, but it's worse as the spice chemicals (capsaicin for chilis) remain on the tongue and heat up again.

That signing makes no sense considering how Balde is playing and how Alba is still good enough as a squad player. Alba, Roberto and Piqué shouldn't be regular starters anymore but are certainly handy squad players still atleast. Hopefully Xavi sticks with Balde, as he has been doing so far.

Drop Trent for Gomez at RB, Matip comes in next to Virgil. Harvey Elliot had looked one of a couple of bright sparks, but he isn’t a central midfielder and we are getting run ragged there. Thiago, Fabinho and Arthur for the next few games, nothing fancy, just there to do their job and stop team running straight through the middle so easily. Klopp says about reinventing ourselves, well then let’s try not playing such a high line, invite the other team to attack and hit them on the break with Salah, Diaz and balls in behind for Nunez.

This Asia Cup has been good. Pakistan Sri Lanka in the final. Another final over game between Pakistan Afghanistan. On a side note it's good seeing Afghanistan and Bangladesh improve becoming more competitive but some players on their teams are so childish. Overly aggressive in tense moments and then immediately crying in case of loss.

This one's about the cartel in a particular city kidnapping people for ransom, and then still killing them and hiding the bodies despite actually getting the ransom money from the families. Some of the victims were even chosen as kidnapping targets by their own extended family members. Unfathomable.

Would have been pretty cool, but I guess now Porsche will fully concentrate on the new WEC programme, so I can't complain.
