  4. That's our daughter ear-marked a wee kitten from a friend for September as the mother cat gave birth today with 4 kittens and our daughter has chosen one and wee Kaiden has called her Puddin, I don't know why Puddin? The daughter said she won't be buying any more pet rats as their life span is too short and Kaiden is always heartbroken when one dies, that's 3 rats the daughter has lost now in the last 6 months and vet bills cost a bomb nowadays.

  9. Best decision of Lukaku´s career was moving to Inter to play under Conte. He´s grown a lot as a player under a coach that truly values him. It´s a shame that he didn´t join Conte before, at Chelsea.

  11. I love my crunchies, our son was nipping up Farmfoods and asked if we needed anything, the wife gave him a list and I told him to bring me a crunchie back, he did but said they only had a pack of 9, that will do me, I've had 3 already and the wife nicked one.

  13. Results - Matchday 2A Casualties (0) No massacres yet on day one of the second round. Survivors (3) @Pyfish and @Dr. Gonzo get the honour of being the first players into the third round of the competition this time, after they backed Russia to beat Finland in today's early kickoff. Later yesterday, @CaaC (John) cruised through to the next stage after Italy smashed Switzerland 3-0. Congratulations all round - the Matchday 3 fixtures can be found at the bottom of the post. Not in play today (23) With no casualties yet, there are 23 competitors left to learn their fate over the next three days. Today is the big one, though, as over half of them back Ukraine to beat North Macedonia. There is also interest in the early fixture where Mel81x and DeadLinesman have put their faith in Belgium to defeat Denmark. Matchday 3 Fixtures To peruse at your leisure. You can make a pick as soon as your progress is confirmed.

  15. Had the same thought earlier. Saw a couple of drivers do this and I was thinking 'what the fuck are you doing? You're on your own in your car. Literally no need to wear one if you're the only one there

  16. Got tickets for Wimbledon today. Court 1 on the missus' birthday so using that as one of her birthday presents. We both love Nadal so a sickener he won't be there but I'll just be glad to finally go! Will be mens QF day so hopefully get to see some decent play.

  17. I reckon Arnautovic would thrive alongside the big man Kalajdzic upfront, I think that their styles would complement each other. Yeah, that midfield with Baumgartner in the hole just behind the front two looks very impressive. Although I would personally prefer a fit Laimer over Grilitsch in midfield. I think Laimer hasn't fully recovered from his long term injury, hence his subpar performances at these Euros. But Austria certainly have the potential to play very well, given the players they have. Foda just needs to get his act together and get the team playing to their potential.

  20. Austria has room on the left. What I don't understand is why Hinteregger has freedom to explore it meanwhile Alaba stays on defence. They should invert the roles.

  24. Denmark actually looked a really good threat. Probably deserved something easily out of that. They are one of the better sides from the fair to middling batch of sides, so hopefully they do Russia and can nick 2nd or 3rd and qualify. Not being funny, but Finland and Russia are both gash sides. We don't want them going through and giving sides walkovers in the next round.

  26. I wear a mask in the car sometimes, but not because of catching Covid just because I can't be arsed putting it in the door storage and taking it out again, I'll just stick the mask on and it's one less job to do. @DeadLinesman told me that he sneezes on vegetables in the supermarket and puts them back, so not something that I'd be listening to personally.

  27. That last bit, about the football being riddled with corruption and mismanagement in Vietnam... tbh, I think that rings true of a lot of Asian nations and their football sides. It's certainly true of Iran... and they're one of the stronger Asian sides. But a lot of these countries have serious issues with corruption/mismanagement throughout their politics - and football development is not as big of a priority generally in the grand scheme of things. I don't think it's any coincidence that the strongest Asian sides, imo, are countries that are generally a lot more stable and better off than the others - like Japan and South Korea. But yeah, that is smart though putting him in charge of the senior and junior national teams and having a shared philosophy and continuity will do wonders for developing their national team... and probably their domestic league generally. That's really what Vietnam and honestly a whole lot of other Asian countries sort of need in terms of football and building up the quality a bit.

  34. Well it was an excellent first half by Ukraine, but it was disappointing to see Ukraine decide to defend on their 2 goal lead in the 2nd half. I understand that they saw the 3 points as crucial, but they could have won by a bigger margin had they repeated their 1st half performance in the 2nd half. An important win nonetheless by Ukraine and they will feel confident in their last game against an impressive Austrian team.

  37. I've noticed a weird phenomenon the Isle of Man. We're currently totally restriction-free, hopefully for good this time, all adults have had at least one jab so any hand sanitising and mask-wearing is pure personal choice and not even advised by the government. The thing I've noticed is that more than half of the people I see wearing masks are in cars, which I find weird, as in the car with the people you live with (presumably) is the lowest risk of catching or transmitting the virus. Even when mask-wearing was compulsory or recommended, I used to take mine off in the car and just put it on when I was in public. Don't see many taking the precaution in shops or walking down the street or in school. Just a bit of an oddity and wondered if anyone else has noticed the same. At first I thought the sample size was too small to draw any conclusions but I kept seeing it again and again.

  38. Currently got about £1.5m transfer budget, wage budget had increased by about £10k too I think. Our unbelievable run coincided with us signing a CB called Lissens on loan from Norwich. He was brilliant. Need to get him back on loan or sign someone permanently at CB. Other than that pretty strong defensively. Could do with a couple of midfielders and wide players who'll score goals to take the pressure off Kieran McGrath who ended up winning League Two top scorer.

  39. Haroon Rahim was a Pakistani tennis player that reached a career high of 34 in singles ranking, first Asian to enter top 40. He won some opens and won some tight matches against top players like Jimmy Connors. He wanted to marry an American woman but his family disapproved and severed ties with him. He married that woman but marriage didn't last long. He became an addict/hippie and was last seen in Nepal at a Guru's place. His whereabouts are not known ever since.

  41. Against North Macedonia, it seems that Ukraine will start with the same line-up as in their opening match, with the exception of Dynamo Kyiv winger Viktor Tsygankov starting instead of the injured Zubkov. Many fans will be happy to see the very talented Tsygankov start for Ukraine, as he is considered to be one of the best players in the Ukrainian league. At 23, he already has a lot of international experience, having been capped 26 times for his country and having scored 6 international goals. He has scored against Serbia(twice in 1 match), as well as against France and he netted the winning goal against Spain in a Nations League match in October 2020. As the golden boy of Ukrainian domestic football, he will want to impress in the must win match against North Macedonia. I am confident that Ukraine will get the much needed win that they require against North Macedonia in Bucharest, Romania. Shevchenko will set his team out in an offensive formation, which should deliver the 3 precious points that Ukraine need.

  42. Yeah my ring finger is super stretchy tbh. It’s pretty handy tbh, but it’s definitely led to some bad habits. I’ve been using my pinky more and more over the years. I ended up getting EZ Drummer and holy shit EZ is fucking right - can get a good drum beat that sounds pretty good in just a few minutes. It had previously taken me DAYS to program midi drums that were… way fucking worse than what I can do in about 5 minutes with this.
