Devil-Dick Willie
Avatar was a mediocre, overlong film propped up by CGI and a ripped of story people found familiar and safe.
DeadLinesman
Avatar was glorious. Watched it again yesterday. Fern Gully on steroids.
DeadLinesman
Gavin and Stacy is wank. In fact anything with James Corden starring is wank.

Subscriber nudge+ Posted January 10, 2020 Subscriber Share Posted January 10, 2020 Shawshank Redemption is a mediocre cliched overly sentimental feel-good movie. Most superhero/comic book movies are crap. Godfather II is better than Godfather I. Saving Private Ryan has one great scene and is brilliant visually but the overall storytelling is awful. Requiem for a Dream is garbage.
Cicero
American Beauty is an overrated pile of shite. The Prince of Egypt is the best ever animated film. Marvel films aren’t cinema

Brilliant movie. Quite Place is one I'm not familiar with.

This got me thinking... I'd add Malick's Tree of Life to the list of innovative/experimental Hollywood movies in the past decade. But I agree in general that the 2010s placed a big emphasis on nostalgia resulting in a mass of reboots/sequels using the same formula.
