The Liquidator Posted August 7, 2017 Posted August 7, 2017 Wasnt great yesterday. For long periods we bossed the game with ease without looking like we were going to score anytime soon. As much of a fan I am of Fabragas, playing as a two with Kante does not work against teams who are top 6 material. When Musonda came on the pitch it was amusing watching him making himself available for the ball in the same area as Fabregas. I am sure its been a long time since he hasnt been given the ball. There is no doubt in my mind there is a player in him. Seeing the guy signed to take over from Matic, yet again sitting on the bench has me scratching my head when we will see him on the pitch? Dave and Moses got caught again with the ball over the top which for my mind makes the new German penciled in to RCH. You dont have to be Brian Clough to see we are light. I heard Simon Johnson state on the radio that Conte, privately with the serious Chelsea jurno's, is talking as many as 5 new signings needed. Still over 20 days to go, but I would settle for 3 good ones now. Quote
Cicero Posted August 7, 2017 Posted August 7, 2017 Still wondering why Luiz, Cesc, or Moses didn't take penalties. Also, fuck this new penalty system. Quote
LFCMadLad Posted August 7, 2017 Posted August 7, 2017 Rumours Roman and his wife have started divorce proceedings meaning she will take him to the cleaners. Maybe the reason he's flogging all Chelsea's players? Quote
The Liquidator Posted August 7, 2017 Posted August 7, 2017 Talk that PSG will be looking to offload a few players before the close of the window. Serge Aurier has been linked with us a number of times, but there are one or two others in their squad who would be a better fix for us. I guess it could be more than a few being moved out if its true what the Sun are leading with tonight. PSG agree personnel terms with Kylian Mbappe Quote

Storts Posted August 7, 2017 Posted August 7, 2017 Hard to feel sorry for Conte, £140 million spent this summer already and so many players out on loan, if you want a squad it's there. Pathetic whining Quote

Spike Posted August 7, 2017 Posted August 7, 2017 Well Wegner can have the FA Cup and the Community Sheild, Conte can keep the League Quote
Cicero Posted August 8, 2017 Posted August 8, 2017 (edited) Baker set to go out on loan to Reading. Another midfielder gone with Burnley just 4 days away. Edited August 8, 2017 by Cicero Quote
The Liquidator Posted August 9, 2017 Posted August 9, 2017 Interesting story making the rounds about the exit of Matic these past few days. There is no doubt watching the manager this morning on the Sky new season preview he isnt trying to smoke screen, but continues to mention the "Jose season" when Matic is asked about. For me that pours more strength on the story making the rounds, a story I am sure you are aware of. It will be interesting how Matic gets on without Kante doing his running behind. Quote
carefreeluke Posted August 9, 2017 Posted August 9, 2017 (edited) Mourinho attempted to sign Willian for Man United, was one of his key lieutenants it seems and obviously we can't sell him given the current depth of the squad but wouldn't cry if he left to be honest, good squad player but nothing more. In saying that, I wouldn't sell him to Man United as he's such a Mourinho player and I feel despite the amount of players Man United have in that position Mourinho lacks someone of Willian's mould and quality there. Willian's overall work rate has dropped since Mourinho left and last year Conte used him (like he did with a lot of players) in the exact manner he should be utilised as a squad player nothing more. For me Willian can grate on you the more playing time he gets, more attacks break down and I'm becoming increasingly more frustrated with his work rate (watch him closely next game) as I know he's capable of much more. Perhaps he has less work to do in this system with the cover behind him but still I want to see more from him in that regard. Edited August 9, 2017 by carefreeluke Quote
carefreeluke Posted August 9, 2017 Posted August 9, 2017 Despite the increase in games (and bar a severe injury crisis) I can't see Musonda getting the playing time he needs. Quote

I hear what you say Luke and yes I had noticed Willian's workrate had dropped, but I will cut him some slack after the death of his mother during last season. It hasnt been widely documented by the media how big a blow it was for Willian & how poorly he felt when he returned to England. It wasnt till the end of last season when we saw some return to form. I felt he worked very hard during the games I saw pre season and while he can be bloody frustrating losing the ball during attacks, he is a fine player, one we can not afford to lose. The news of United interest in him is old news. Willian said at the end of last season he had no interest of following Jose and I would suggest, as per normal, the media are looking for anything negative they can print about the club. It does not help when our manager looks like he needs 1000 volts put through his body when being interviewed. I understand he is like this every pre season with all clubs he has managed, but to be frank, I am getting pissed off with him. Stop crying the bitch and get on with it or we find someone else. Quote
carefreeluke Posted August 13, 2017 Posted August 13, 2017 Courtois Azpi Christensen Rudiger Moses Luiz Kante Alonso Willian Musonda Morata Only option for Sunday surely? Depending on Pedro's injury. A part from the fact we're lacking numbers, missing Fabregas for this game may be a blessing in disguise but he would be a very good option from the bench. Quote
The Liquidator Posted August 13, 2017 Posted August 13, 2017 Well that was a very interesting opening fixture for us. Congratulations to Burnley. They obviously caught us at the right time and had an official in the middle who, yet again has stung us with dodgy decisions. To be honest, this posting is less about yesterday and more of whats going on at our club. As I understand, the manager has alienated himself from most of the board. He talked himself out of a contract extension, having to settle improved terms to his existing contract. There are those at the club who are furious with his "texting" to Costa, although he says the text was just confirming what Costa and his agent already knew. What we dont know is, had anyone else at the club told Costa his change of heart towards the club might be met with the same? It seems some of his team mates believe there was. Now I have written here and elsewhere that I feel this situation is all down to Conte. His demeanor during the close season has been pathetic, so much so I have found myself shouting at the screen n radio in frustration. Now I have Italian friends who know him far better I from one season and they say this is him every close season. No matter what his club do, its never enough in Conte's eyes and he gives off this stench of being unhappy. What is illuminating is top hacks are agreeing with my point of view Paul Hayward & Oliver Holt both pointed out this is more down to Conte rather than in the past its been the board over the managers. Someone said this morning Conte is picking problems out of a clear blue sky, a clear blue sky he created which it seems he has some Masochistic need to make things as difficult for himself as possible. As much as I admired what he did last season, I am so pissed at him currently that I fear like most of the board, I wont be happy till he moves on. Quote

A draw is our best bet. At worst we will be only 6 points behind before Hazard, Bakayoko, Pedro, and more recruitments come in. Quote

Costa: "I respect Conte as a great coach but as a person, no. He's not a coach who's very close with players. He doesn't possess charisma." Well we can add fucking liar to Costa's talents ------------------- Have everyone noticed, his Agent isnt speaking on his behalf ------------ That's cause he knows the truth Quote
