De Bruyne to get contract extension as well

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/42768546

Quote

Manchester City are set to confirm midfielder Kevin de Bruyne has signed a lucrative long-term contract extension.

The 26-year-old Belgium playmaker's current deal is not due to expire until 2021.

However, the former Chelsea player's outstanding form since arriving from Wolfsburg for a then club-record £55m has prompted City to extend De Bruyne's stay at Etihad Stadium.

It is anticipated De Bruyne's new deal will keep him at the club until 2024.

De Bruyne, who joined Chelsea in 2012 from Genk but made only three first-team appearances before leaving for Wolfsburg in 2014, has been outstanding in City's quest for all four trophies this season.

In the Premier League alone he has scored six goals and got 10 assists, with the latter figure being matched only by City team-mate Leroy Sane.

De Bruyne's form has led to him being made odds-on favourite to be named PFA Player of the Year this season.

Think thats a no-brainer you don't neglect the engine that makes everything tick and he is their most valuable player at this point in time. You'd imagine some other clubs might be trying to get his services too with the way hes been going but City will hold onto him.

I stand by what i've always said, not only is he the best striker in the Premier League but his records proves he's the best striker to ever play in England!!   ..that's he's 26 goal of the season off 28 games (23 starts)

For some bizarre reason's he seem's to be underrated by a few on here

He needs to stay injury-free for a season to make a more 'visual' impact to the naysayers. He's got a great record and most people shrug him off because they don't see too much of him but when on form hes a joy to watch.

If he can remain injury free he will score 40+ goals this season easy

He’s not the best striker in the league. Kane has eclipsed him. Aguero still excellent but not the player he was, regardless of goal scoring record. Just have to watch his all round game now and it’s lacking. Thankfully for him he’s in a team of superstars so that part is pretty redundant

If Kane has eclipsed him he would be playing for City    ..maybe in a few years with Aguero ageing but you judge a striker on goals and link up play and Aguero's goals to minutes are the best in premier league history

Nicholas knows. Kane will at least know what it feels to win the CL (with RM). Aguero has the disadvantage of playing for a coach whose plan A is world class and its dominating.... BUT when exposed/outplayed he doesn't have a plan b and he chokes. Monaco defeated y'all "pep style" and he couldn't stop the goals from monaco.. Inter Milan vs barcelona mourinho set up a balanced team offensively and defensively and at the end of the day, the greatest team over was outclassed.

Have you masturbated over Mourinho today?

If not please do so. It may just calm your excitement over that dull, mardy arsed, bus parking, sour faced whopper.

Well even if we are looking at goals, Kane has won the golden boot the last two years, comfortably leads this year and scored the most goals in Europe in 2017.

Aguero is still good but he’s not Kane now

Wasn’t a wind up, i know HB thinks that - just discussion. You have to learn the difference. HB and I have this discussion all the time in the group chat. In fact you should have seen what he sent this morning, Teso and I were cracking up
