The last few posts of this thread are like Paul Merson had a love-child with TalkSport.

All I'll say is, if you come out and act like a know-it-all about someone else's football club, basing your opinions on selective or no evidence, like some of the Liverpool fans who claimed in the summer that Rafa Benitez was going to be the best Everton manager this century, and you turn out to be wrong, then I will bring it back up on a regular basis until someone else manages to be as catastrophically wrong as you about something else Everton-related.

With that in mind, I'd call it "bold" to be making some of these claims about a 25 year old player who has a track record of sustained, elite-ish levels of performance at a Champions League team, even if we haven't seen it recently.

Let the lad kick a ball at least before you compare him to Ashley Williams. Jeez.

I still think I’m right about Rafa being Everton’s best manager. For decades Everton fans didn’t give a fuck about being shit, then you get a LFC legend in and all of a sudden Everton fans magically have fucking standards again

Just on the point that he hasn't suffered injuries - he has. Hes gone public with his hamstring injuries having hampered him and not being able to be quite the powerful runner he once was.

That he's lazy and has a bad attitude is also a myth. The whole "he's an Instragram footballer" has been kind of an accepted myth due to how he was bullied by Mourinho.

The issue with Dele is position and confidence. He's not a box-to-box midfielder, he plays just behind the striker and he does not respond to "tough love" management, he's the kind of player who needs an arm around the shoulder for his confidence.

Sad to see him go because he was a key-part of the best Spurs team in my lifetime and provided such amazing moments and I wish him good luck but it was time, he was never going to revive with us and he's too maverick a player for Conte's liking. Hope Lampard is the manager for him - he should be.

Almost the same as Almiron and Willock for us,  being played out of position has not helped them.   both are out and out attacking midfielders.

no.

you don't get to reserve judgement just because the guy moved to a new club.

he has had 11teen managers who have all lost faith in him and we have seen this in our country hundreds of times already.

Even those big games Dele has played, he has been lost and confused in. Colombia in WC was a disaster for him as a footballer and i don't think he has ever recovered from being utterly useless in a key game when he was supposed to be the golden child of eng football.

Are you telling me I'm not allowed to reserve judgement? xD Not really how debate and opinion works mate.

I’m genuinely not going to listen to someone who can’t start a sentence with capital letters. Or even be bothered to finish the word ‘English’.

Amazingly spelt Colombia right, though.

Why’s that so shocking? xD

The England vs Colombia match thread was a real eye opener for many. Then Brian turned it in to a discussion about Peru and ruined it.

I'm not high on Dele Alli or Frank Lampard to be honest. Alli seems to screams of another player stopping at Everton on his downward trajectory whilst Lampard's time at Chelsea suggests he will struggle to improve the Everton defence.

i think you were the one that said we could not pre judge his career at Everton first off mate. that is something we actually have evidence for.

So which part of that are you arguing with? We can speculate on his Everton career. We can't judge it. We very literally have absolute zero evidence about Dele Alli's Everton career. He has 0 appearances. This is not complicated nor is it a matter of opinion.
