Subscriber RandoEFC+ Posted October 9, 2022 Author Subscriber Share Posted October 9, 2022 Results - Japanese Grand Prix Saturday saw pole position go to Max Verstappen over Charles Leclerc, who received slightly more backing than usual from 3 of this week's 8 predictors. However, the points for backing the Flying Dutchman go to @RandoEFC, @Tommy, @Stan, @DeadLinesman and @Whiskey. The bonus question was also resolved on Saturday. Alex Albon narrowly missed out on making it 3 out of 3 Asian drivers through to Q2, with Zhou and Tsunoda progressing successfully and bagging five points each for @Tommy, @Coma, @OrangeKhrush and @DeadLinesman. The cream rose to the top on Sunday, as we had our first perfect podium predictions for a long time, @DeadLinesman and @RandoEFC both picking up a total of 20 points each for their combination of Verstappen-Perez-Leclerc. The Ferrari driver's post-race penalty and subsequent swap with Perez for 2nd and 3rd denied @Stan and @Coma this accolade, but they still picked up a strong 9 points each for their podium predictions. @nudge and @OrangeKhrush both had to settle for 6 points, with all three podium-sitters correct, but none in the right position. @Whiskey bagged 10 points for his Red Bull 1-2 but chose the wrong Ferrari driver to complete his rostrum. @Tommy was the only one to back a Mercedes driver for a top three finish and he was left with 5 points on Sunday. Finally, nobody predicted a DNF for this week's random driver, Alexander Albon. His first lap retirement meant that @Stan's prediction of 17th was the closest to his classified 'position', bagging him an extra couple of points. @DeadLinesman extends his lead at the top with a season-high score of 30 points out of a race-weekend maximum of 35. @RandoEFC's highest score of the season sees him complete the weekly swap with @Tommy in 2nd and 3rd. @Whiskey and @Coma post solid scores either side of @nudge who sits in a bit of no-man's land in mid-table. @Stan also posted his best score of the season this weekend and makes some ground back on @OrangeKhrush ahead of him. Subscriber RandoEFC+ Posted October 25, 2022 Author Subscriber Share Posted October 25, 2022 Results - US Grand Prix I'm not waiting for Thursday's appeals and whatever difference they might make to the result. It's a low-scoring week in Texas, epitomised by Saturday's qualifying session, where nobody predicted a pole position for Carlos Sainz. A more predictable podium result saw everyone apart from @Whiskey at least pick up five points for predicting yet another win for Max Verstappen. @Tommy, @Coma, @Stan and @nudge doubled their money by accurately backing Leclerc to finish in 3rd place, while @RandoEFC, @DeadLinesman and @OrangeKhrush all put the Monegasque in 2nd for 2 points each. With nobody predicting a podium finish for Lewis Hamilton, these results more or less cancel each other out. The random driver selection allowed @Coma to distinguish himself from the pack and take home the most points this week as the only one to make a perfect prediction for Sergio Perez' finishing position, 4th. The bonus question asked how many different drivers would lead at least a lap of the race, and with Max Verstappen, Sergio Perez, Charles Leclerc, Lewis Hamilton and Sebastian Vettel taking that tally to five, @OrangeKhrush picks up a couple of bonus points with the boldest and therefore closest prediction of 4 different drivers. With three races to go and a lot of points still to play for once the season predictions are calculated, @DeadLinesman still holds a 15-point lead. A late-season charge from @Coma sees him move away from the bottom pack and set his eyes on a late battle with @nudge for 5th place. The absent MUFC slips behind @OrangeKhrush in the only actual change to the overall standings this weekend. Predictions for Mexico will be up tomorrow.
