It’s frustrating, but it’s a stonewall foul. Van Dijk has been fucking stupid, and he will be banned longer for calling the ref all sorts. 
 

Game is gone, if we get out of here without a hiding we’ll have done good. Trent might end up walking at some point as well. Just need to dig in now and hope for a bit of magic up front to grab a point.

Agree. Even before the red card, Newcastle's midfield had already taken control of the match. Impressive performance. 

 

On VVD's red card, couldnt VAR have intervened? IMO that was a shocking decision. Such a shame when a referee completely spoils a good match.
