Not old enough to have seen him play, but I also didn't see Pele or Maradona play but I'd put them both in my All Time Starting XI

That is what would be expected though from an all time greatest side. I'll go with Buffon but for me it will be a greatest players of the past 25 years 11 not an all time 11.

Administrator Stan Posted March 16, 2017 Administrator Posted March 16, 2017 It's Maldini for me, as well. If he didn't exist it would be Roberto Carlos. But the Italian seemed the consummate professional and was simply just amazing as a defender.
Cicero Posted March 16, 2017 Author Posted March 16, 2017 I'd take Denis Irwin over Roberto Carlos. Dead serious.
Eco Posted March 16, 2017 Posted March 16, 2017 Looking ahead, I think my entire back line are Italians.

DeadLinesman Posted March 16, 2017 Posted March 16, 2017 Should we just pick an Italy 11 and be done with it?
Eco Posted March 16, 2017 Posted March 16, 2017 Well my next up is Cannavaro, so I guess this is Italy's best.

Anyone not voting Paolo Maldini in that position has to have something wrong with them. Italy will lose out anywhere else other than defence though.
