Smiley Culture Posted June 23, 2024 Posted June 23, 2024 What are we saying then? Dehydration in the mountains? Drugged out of his skull and ended up down a ravine? Or are we on the "this is a bit mad, there's definitely things not adding up" train of thought? Quote

Moderator CaaC (John) Posted June 23, 2024 Moderator Posted June 23, 2024 The 19-year-old has not been heard from since he called a friend on Monday, saying he was lost and needed water. Jay Slater Doesn't look good but hopefully he is found ok. Quote
Administrator Stan Posted June 24, 2024 Administrator Posted June 24, 2024 Don't know a lot about it but have seen some comments that have definitely aroused suspicion, moreso from the interviews given by his mum and his partner. Quote
Smiley Culture Posted June 24, 2024 Author Posted June 24, 2024 We're in an era where "OMG I love a crime documentary" is a widely held character trait for the basic, white UK person aged between 18-35 and as such, plenty of these people think they therefore have the education and ability to "solve" crimes and there's plenty of stuff on social media around this case and plenty of rumours and allegations being passed off as genuine by these people based off of anonymous Facebook comments. People are searching for controversy and micro-analysing every little thing on this "case". I also think people want news stories to be "more interesting" or put better, more dramatic than they sometimes are. Not everything is a Harlan Coben Netflix drama but these people try and make it such. Take that Nicola Bulley case last year, there was plenty of rumours and allegations around that and all it ended up being was a woman drowning in a body of water, rather than some of the suggestions online. I feel like this is similar. There's some wild theories about this out there. 2 Quote
Subscriber Pyfish+ Posted June 24, 2024 Subscriber Posted June 24, 2024 Everyone seems to want it to be this really exciting case, and I agree there are some irregularities in the stories, but that's for authorities to decide, not Sandra from Luton. 1 Quote
Smiley Culture Posted June 27, 2024 Author Posted June 27, 2024 The fundraising money is to be released to his mum, then. The cynic in me thinks this story will come to an “end” soon and that the decision to release funds has been orchestrated by the police and that they’re giving his mum enough rope to hang herself. I reckon she’ll be under intense surveillance and her room and phones will be bugged so that what she spends, who she talks to, how she acts etc will be tracked. Given the recent rumours that some locals reckon he was sat in a bar watching football a few days after he went missing, I think we may be reaching the conclusion of this soon. Quote

Expand Apparently there was a video going round of his mum and her best mate at a boat party once they got to Tenerife. Not sure how true or if it's verified though but that's a big red flag if it is genuine. Quote
Subscriber JoshBRFC+ Posted June 27, 2024 Subscriber Posted June 27, 2024 Jokers. The lot of them. I used to live minutes away from where they're all from. Taking it with a pinch of salt as i honestly don't care, but not hearing good stuff from people i know who know of them and their associates. 1 Quote
Smiley Culture Posted June 27, 2024 Author Posted June 27, 2024 My money is on him walking into a hospital/police station a few days after some of this cash has been released claiming he’s been drugged/no memory of where he’s been/had a head injury and some of this money has gone mysteriously missing. Expand It wouldn't surprise me if the money has been released, and the mum is being watched like a hawk as to where the money goes and who it goes to. Either she splashes the cash fraudulently, or she actually gives some of it to these drug dealers. Either way I think she'll get stitched up but she has no choice... Quote

Dave Posted July 17, 2024 Posted July 17, 2024 I can't say I'm surprised that Peter Bleksley is condemning the armchair detectives, despite igniting them with his comments during the Nicola Bulley investigation. I guess his opinion just changes with who improves his bank balance. Quote
