I think Carragher goes the other way too often with Liverpool to not seem biased. Yeah I get that you can hear him celebrate goals sometimes but both of them, their analysis of Liverpool is way off at times. I didn't hear what Neville was saying today but it was embarrassing hearing him last week on the Chelsea game. Anyway decent point after that first half. Arsenal are not great to watch at all though, are they? The time wasting so often throughout a game. Like a version of Chelsea under Mourinho without the trophies to show for it. Nearly pulled off a win against City though and should've won today. A nonsense red card in the City game and the referee today denying an obvious penalty and the goal at the end amongst other nonsense red cards thus season will be bigger reasons for us not winning the league. The team plays a lot differently when Odegaard is there as well. Without him, we basically have no playmaker because Arteta is too scared to play Nwaneri. I think they’re a defense first side, but I think they’re impressive in playing this way in the modern era while also being able to play some pretty attacking football despite the more defensive style. He’s not a football terrorist like Simeone or Mourinho imo Aside from where they are in the table, I think performance wise we can say that they’re the best side we’ve been up against this season. This is 100% me, it's getting to the point where I'm a little annoyed when they lose as I know it's an inch closer to the end of another banter era (arguably the best yet). Does my head in that we've barely laid a glove on them since that 4-0 when they've been handing out wins to every team in the league. On the refereeing drama, I thought Van Dijk was very lucky early on when he kicked out at Havertz. If that happens in Brentford vs Fulham and the player gets sent off it isn't even remotely controversial. The penalty call where Martinelli got wiped out by the slide tackle was a good claim but he did control the ball with his arm before that so that might be why VAR didn't intervene. The Arsenal "goal" I thought the foul given was soft but the whistle had clearly gone and you can't say they'd definitely have scored if everyone had played on as if there hadn't been a whistle. There are so many things not looking kosher and perhaps there will be a Paul Mitchell appointment made. Maybe someone like Adi Hutter whom he has worked with and is prepared to work a project rather than throw tantrums. Ragnick may be another consideration for the RB days Eddie has lasted a lot longer than I thought, but 4 years you need to freshen up ideas and he looks stale with no idea on plan B. Konate got the ball. It was rash but he didn't foul Martinelli. And there was no goal at the end. Taylor was giving an advantage to Liverpool to see how the play would carry on. There was no advantage and blew up well before the ball even ended up in the net. I know there's been some contentious decisions in previous matches before but I don't think there was anything Taylor got wrong in those decisions. You could argue whichever foul Taylor blew for was soft but then Arsenal got multiple of them themselves throughout the game as well, some where there was much less contact than there was on either Szoboszlai or Konate.
