I remember the first time I saw him. That was on FIFA Ultimate Team, as a manager card, and I couldn't stop laughing at how stereotypical Russian drunk he looked :D

Strange project for him to take on in the first place. You'd fancy Hull to drop most seasons. They're fortunate there is already three teams in a bad place with Burton. It doesn't all bode well for future seasons mind you.

I think it was meant to be his way in to English football, a stepping stone. I believe he’s living in England because he is close to Abramovich, so it will be interesting to see where he surfaces next.

Seemed a fairly nice fella, was talking himself out of the job months ago. I think anyone is going to struggle to make us a top half team but we've lost so many late goals, thrown away so many leads that something had to change.

Good luck to him. His back to back promotions and work with Scunthorpe showed his pedigree as a manager regardless of what happened since.
