Dave Posted December 24, 2017 Posted December 24, 2017 Well. That went worse than everybody expected. Despite being unimpressive they're still only three points off the playoffs. So to sack him now all seems a bit silly.
Danny Posted December 24, 2017 Posted December 24, 2017 Maybe Swansea didn't sack him unfairly after all...
Honey Honey Posted December 24, 2017 Posted December 24, 2017 Won 2-1 at Sheffield Wednesday then sacked for Christmas afterwards. Seems a bit off, got to be more to it than meets the eye, otherwise morally the timing is questionable. Rumours he is going back to Swansea and they knew it before the game. Boro fans reported that after the game Monk and his staff came over to the fans, his staff doing so is unusual.
Toony Posted December 24, 2017 Posted December 24, 2017 Very odd to do it straight after a win. He's not done a good job though, they've been very poor away from home and lost some shockers but I still wouldn't be backing against them going up.

He’ll be awful back at Swansea. No doubt

Huw 'The Messiah' Jenkins has pretty much sold them down the shitter and are selling off their best players (namely Sigurdsson, Ayew, Williams and Llorente) while replacing them with either poor quality (Bony the Pony) or a quality player that clearly doesn't want to be there in Renato Sanches.

They went from a model ran club to a soulless husk in no time at all. Sold their identity for cash, back to the lower leagues for Swansea
Subscriber Dan+ Posted December 24, 2017 Subscriber Posted December 24, 2017 I've never ever gotten the fuss with Monk as a manager. Always found him very over-rated.
Toony Posted December 26, 2017 Posted December 26, 2017 Excellent appointment - he'll be very good at that level.
Danny Posted December 26, 2017 Posted December 26, 2017 I imagine he'll get them back up and consolidate for a couple of years.
Administrator Stan Posted December 26, 2017 Administrator Posted December 26, 2017 so now they'll be even more boring than they already are?
Subscriber RandoEFC+ Posted December 26, 2017 Subscriber Posted December 26, 2017 Thank goodness he won't be back in the Premier League for a while longer.
Dave Posted December 26, 2017 Author Posted December 26, 2017 It's a brave decision move for him. He can get away with not winning a while when he's aiming for 40 points but he can't do that with a side that expect promotion.
Subscriber Dan+ Posted December 27, 2017 Subscriber Posted December 27, 2017 He'll have them up next season I reckon. Their fans I've seen on Twitter are buzzing with this.
