Particularly as the Euro0 2020 has been pushed a year into the future. I know Tommy likes to comment on parts of his social like (darts and drink) in Dusseldorf and Inga may have to stay in Germany longer than she intended. Chadwell in probably locked down in the US and Relling's area has been quiet so far - so what is happening where you are and how is it affecting you? I have had to cancel all my plans for next week's holiday and my Summer German class is now put off until September. My Saturday kid's Lego group is also ended abruptly - not sure what they are going to do instead but hopefully we will be able to get back together in the Summer. It's almost the same as being told to stay inside because there isn't anything to go out for - other than the fresh air - assuming that it stays fresh!!! So what's life like where you are. I am out for probably my last Dinner for some time tonight, but I know that in parts of Europe there would not be anywhere open to do that! Don't let this present situation stop our interaction - I know we are all better than that! Stay nice, keep well and please - despite what we sometimes think to the contrary -don't shut up! Wenn du denkst du bist allein..... Alan, I moved your post into the Schland thread; think that's exactly the place for it I'm actually more busy with work now when I was before the outbreak Other than that, we're currently on a two week quarantine; everything's closed except grocery stores, pharmacies & pet stores. Restaurants are only allowed to do deliveries or takeaways. My personal plans have been all affected by it heavily but I was following the events ever since the start in China and kind of expected it to happen so it didn't caught me by surprise... Quote
Moderator Tommy Posted March 17, 2020 Author Moderator Posted March 17, 2020 Inga is in Germany? Everything is closed here except grocery stores, pharmarcies and drug stores. Restaurants are only allowed to open until 18:00. Bars, Clubs, Concert halls, Casinos, Gyms, Brothels etc. are closed. I think they'll make it even more strict though, as someone people seem to never learn and still gather in groups. Quote

Depends on Bundesland, every shop still open here, that includes book stores, barber shops and thankfully tobacco trades around here. Bars, clubs, gyms brothrels, concert hall, cinemas and so on are closed so. Quote

nudge Posted March 17, 2020 Posted March 17, 2020 Must say I love the empty streets and parking lots though. Quote

Which really pisses me off. Normally it would probably never be a problem to at least go outside by yourself but because of those idiots it will probably happen at one point that everyone has to stay home except for going to work or grocery shopping. When I went for a walk today, I stayed on my edge of the sidewalk, and the people came towards me stayed on their edge of the sidewalk. Everyone kept his distance. Pretty funny but good. 1 Quote

Similar in the supermarket today; one crazy lady even freaked out and starting screaming at another customer who was just standing there (at least a meter away) minding his own business What's funny is that crazy lady is probably herself one of those who normally stand waaaaaay too close and even ram their trolleys into your back while you're queuing at the checkout Wankers. 1 Quote

Just got back from dinner where the place was half full - or half empty if you wish, which meant there was plenty of space between diners. Strange thing that the Polish guy who served us says his family goes to the local Catholic Church in Warsaw which the Lewandowski family used when Robert was a kid! Irrespective of that the food was great and my next outing has now to wait until Mothers day - if they are still open then. There seems to be no panic here (other than the local Tesco Loo Roll Counter) but everyone is using the gel on offer and acting like grown-ups! Somehow I get the impression that we are going to get through this! Quote

nudge Posted March 22, 2020 Posted March 22, 2020 Would anyone be interested in a weekly German Football Pub Quiz while everything else is on hold anyway? I'm thinking something along the lines of 10 questions with everyone submitting their answers via PM. I'd try to make it difficult enough. No Google of course. Thoughts? @Tommy @Faithcore @Rucksackfranzose @Viva la FCB @Relling @God is Haaland @Relling @SchalkeUK anyone else? 1 Quote
