Clever from Bardsley. Absolute scumbag manoeuvre, but clever. He knows exactly what you can and can't do and he's provoked Rashford and then looked straight at the referee and essentially asked him to send him off.

I find it funny that players won't celebrate goals against their former clubs these days, but they will fuck them with bullshit like that.

Bardsley has nothing to his game but physicality, only found out on Thursday when I was watching Burnley against Olympiakos that he was still in this league. He's the embodiment of resulting to physicality to make up for his flaws elsewhere. One of the players I hate most.

he's a lesser version of Alan Hutton and that's saying something.

It was the head movement that did him... no punishment for him getting kicked about then?? crazy really, and another player making a meal of some light contact and then crying to the ref...

Bardsley did get booked but it's painful how there's so much important stuff in football that's open to interpretation, but then when you get situations like that referees always stick to the letter of the law and seem incapable of using some interpretation and common sense.

It was a kind of situation where you could have taken them both to one side with the captains and made it clear that any more shit like that and you will be straight off... In the meantime calm the fuck down both of you and lets try and keep it 11v11

Particularly this season, this thinking seems to have become alien to modern referees.

Just watched the clip of Rashford's red. Looked to me like Bardsley kicked out at him twice, actually tried to hurt him and could have if he'd have connected properly so that's obviously only a yellow. Then Rashford turns around and squares up to Bardsley but doesn't actually do anything, less of an aggressive movement than Richarlison last week, absolutely nothing and couldn't have hurt Bardsley in any way, but because it's technically violent conduct he gets sent off.

Laughable "sport" this is these days.

Appalling refereeing that only Rashford gets the red there, and an even bigger scandal that doesn't come under anywhere near enough criticism that nothing can be done about Bardsley because he got a booking. A truly farcical situation all round.

Rashford forced to apologise after being schooled by the experience of Bardsley. The situatiom was farcical to me, as i said with the Richarlison situation last week, maybe more should be done to understand how these incidents occur in the first place.
