Subscriber CaaC (John)+ Posted February 12, 2019 Subscriber Share Posted February 12, 2019 Quote The 29-year-old is out of contract this summer and it is being reported Spurs are keen to bring him to London Tottenham are interested in signing Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge. The 29-year-old is out of contract in the summer and has started two league games this term due to the form of Roberto Firmino, Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah. The Mirror report Spurs are preparing to offer Sturridge a two-year deal to stay in the Premier League, with the player also linked with a move to MLS club New York City. Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino wants to bring in cover and competition for Harry Kane, whose current understudy Fernando Llorente, is also out of contract at the end of the season. Pochettino’s opposite number Jurgen Klopp is believed to be reluctant to give Sturridge a new contract due to injury problems that have blighted his career. Despite his lack of playing time at Anfield, Sturridge would be called upon if Firmino, Mane or Salah were injured. And with Liverpool battling for Premier League and Champions League glory, Klopp might call on Sturridge if he chooses to rest his first-choice forwards. He has proven to be a useful back-up this season, evident when he scored against PSG in the 3-2 win when Firmino was only fit enough for the bench, and when he rescued a point against Chelsea in his four-minute Premier League cameo in September. https://talksport.com/football/492868/tottenham-transfer-liverpool-daniel-sturridge/

Marc
I highly doubt there is any truth in this. Spurs/Poch are smarter than that.
Inverted
Honestly can't think of a less Pochettino-type player.
Dr. Gonzo
Depending on the wages, for 2 years it wouldn' t be a bad deal for an experienced striker as a backup to Kane. The issue here isn't the quality of the player, it's whether or not he'll stay healthy. And recent years indicate he won't, he's very injury prone. The Artful Dodger
He's been pretty much fit all this season hasn't he? Despite a brief cameo in September, Klopp hasn't bothered with him.

He's not going to get much time with our front 3 being healthy for the most part and with Shaqiri being a better fit for the wide positions. Harry
He should go to a less physically intense league and be a regular starting 11 player.
