Yes, he's probably the most powerful player about. I'd say there's more power than precision to his shots but I can see the similarity to Nadal. When the accuracy is on point, it's blisteringly good. Nadal had that whip that he can get on his shots anywhere round the court. It's not a slant on Berrettini that he perhaps lacks that but he makes up for it with the speed & power he has.

Absolutely. Nadal had power and control. Berrettini looks to have a bit more power, but much less control.

But damn, if he does what he is today which is to just find that control while keeping the power, then he's close to unbeatable.

First Italian ever to play in the Wimbledon final...that just seems crazy.

and most likely to be against one of the best returners in the game...

True.

But at Mateo has a much better chance than certainly Herkacz did.

Notice that Shapovalov sometimes struggles at the big crucial points. Twice Djokovic has had break points and Shapovalov has double-faulted. Not to mention the 'easy' winners at the net but he doesn't make them.

He's a very entertaining player and great to watch, but hopefully with time those unforced errors will disappear.

@Eco Barty or Pliskova?

Barty

Didn't watch, but I never would have gone against a healthy Barty.

Just like as much as I want Berrittini to win tomorrow, I can't go against a healthy Djoker

Fair.

Barty was dominant but still not at her best. Still too good for Pliskova though. Barty showed her superiority too frequently than Pliskova did.

Yeah - there are just athletes I don't bet against if they are healthy.

Roger in London
Nadal in Paris
Djokovic anywhere but the above
Lebron James
CR7
Lewis Hamilton

They don't always win, but they win much more of the 'big' games than they lose and often show up at their best when the 'big' game arrives. Barty has the ability to join this list with her age and ability.

Matteo's forehand is unreal.

Sheer power.

This game is fitting for a final. Still can't call it. Berrettini seems to play better under pressure.

I'd just be shocked if Matteo won it.

Djokovic has done this so often, and he rarely loses these matches.

I'd be betting is heavily favored towards Novak also.

Yeah more often than not though Djokovic would be comfortable at this point after recovering from losing a set. Berrettini is still just about keeping it competitive and forcing Djokovic to work for it.

Djokovic about to win the 3rd though. Can't see Berrettini winning 2 sets if so.

Djokovic sees out the victory.

Experience told in the end. Djokovic did begin to look more settled as the match went on.

Berrettini did well for his first ever Grand Slam final.
