Administrator Stan Posted May 21, 2019 Author Administrator Share Posted May 21, 2019 Can't remember the last England squad that had so much experience across it. In with a really good chance of winning this I think... Everyone in bold has played 10+ games in a top-5 European league. Others have played 25+ Championship games. Some players there have played for top 6 sides (in UK) or played in European competition, too, which is great (aware some have been called up for England Nations League squad though). Smiley Culture
Strong side with plenty of experience in it. I’m not au fait with U21 Football but it seems that SkyBet at least are thinking the same as we’re 7/2 favs to win this.

ScoRoss
Quote Goalkeepers: Emil Audero (Sampdoria), Alex Meret (Napoli), Lorenzo Montipo (Benevento) Defenders: Claud Adjapong (Sassuolo), Alessandro Bastoni (Parma), Kevin Bonifazi (SPAL), Arturo Calabresi (Bologna), Federico Dimarco (Parma), Gianluca Mancini (Atalanta), Giuseppe Pezzella (Genoa), Filippo Romagna (Cagliari) Midfielders: Nicolo Barella (Cagliari), Manuel Locatelli (Sassuolo), Rolando Mandragora (Udinese), Alessandro Murgia (SPAL), Lorenzo Pellegrini (Roma), Sandro Tonali (Brescia), Nicolo Zaniolo (Roma) Forwards: Federico Chiesa (Fiorentina), Patrick Cutrone (Milan), Moise Kean (Juventus), Riccardo Orsolini (Bologna), Andrea Pinamonti (Frosinone) Breaking the stereotype, Italy look far better in the attacking positions in the squad. For those not familiar with Serie A, Barella and Zaniolo will be the players to watch.

ScoRoss
Fantastic response from Italy's under 21s tonight. Going a goal down, and what a goal it was, and overrun by Spain for the first half hour. Then took control of the game and came away with an impressive 3-1 victory. Chiesa was sensational. Fiorentina have got to keep hold of him. Expected starting XI: Schlager; Ingolitsch, Posch, Danso, Ullmann; Ljubic, Lienhart; Wolf, Schlager, Honsak; Kalajdzic. Hope Friedl gets some playing time. A strong squad; definitely has the potential to defend the title. Midfield looks very strong in particular...

Speaking from an individual class stand point this has to be the worst U21 squad Germany has had in the last 20 year or so, except for that tournament in Isreal a couple of years ago maybe when our A team was playing test games for Löw and our B team was mainly injured. Subscriber nudge+ Posted June 17, 2019 Subscriber Share Posted June 17, 2019 1-0 for Austria! Horvath hits the post and Hannes Wolf scores on the rebound First ruled out due to alleged offside but thankfully VAR intervened.
Subscriber nudge+ Posted June 17, 2019 Subscriber Share Posted June 17, 2019 Red card for Jovanovic and Hannes Wolf has to be stretchered off after suffering an awful injury That's surely the end of the tournament for him... And Horvath makes it 2-0 from a free kick!!!

Subscriber nudge+ Posted June 17, 2019 Subscriber Share Posted June 17, 2019 A very important win for Austria against Serbia who were favourites for the win (and some even consider them title contenders); too bad they wasted too many good chances though. Hopefully this won't come back to bite them in the arse if goal difference decides the outcome of this group... Schlager alone could (should?) have scored at least twice. Sascha Horvath definitely my MotM; great game by him and the whole Austrian team. Very solid at the back and dangerous going forward too.
