10 goals so far on first day of the season, with about 5 minutes to go.

Celtic have 7 of them against St Johnstone.

Good to see another highly competitive SPL season get off to an exciting and unpredictable start.

St Johnstone have had an utter disastrous summer and have been humbled in their League Cup games by part time teams. Maybe Tommy Wright has been there too long now, or perhaps cost cutting has too far. Seems like a long season ahead for them.

@Inverted

What the fuck happened here,  FT: Celtic 3-4 Cluj

Couldn't believe that score when I checked it as the last time I checked it your Hoops were 2-1 up :o

Nice to see one of my local teams Livingston (the other being Edinburgh City) right up there with the big boys :D

Jozo Simunovic: Celtic defender out until the new year

Celtic defender Jozo Simunovic will be out until next year following a clean-up of his knee, manager Neil Lennon has confirmed.

The 25-year-old centre-half has been out of action since the Scottish champions' 2-0 victory over AIK on 22 August.

"You are probably looking at three to four months," said Lennon.

"It is a blow for us and the player. He felt it was a necessity and thankfully it is not a micro-fracture again."

Lennon said earlier this week Simunovic faced time out on the sidelines, with the Celtic boss hoping the time out would be restricted to weeks rather than months.

"He knows what to do for his rehab and we are just discussing maybe if he can go away for a few weeks and do his rehab at home," Lennon said on Friday ahead of Saturday's Scottish Premiership match with Hibernian.

"He has had a clean-up and obviously we have to tread carefully on his rehab - the sooner we get him back the better."

Currently at Alloa v. Dundee United. Bottom v. Top and Alloa have been all over them, could have been four or five up with a bit of luck. Two attacking teams in a proper wedged old school ground on a bastard cold night. Love it.

Well, that's the Gers on top after the Hoops got beaten by the local team around this neck of the woods, Livingston, not going to go overboard yet as Celtic won't give up 9 in a row again easily, nervy times ahead and looking at Motherwell they are going great guns too.

@Rab you watching Motherwell vs Rangers?

Their keeper playing well. Denied Morelos a few times already.

Yeah, decent games so far. Should've had two penalties but it's Scottish referees so it's not a surprise anymore.

Yeah surprised the lino didn't give the one on Morelos from the corner. Literally jumps all over the back of him. That happens from a goal-kick or elsewhere, it's a free kick.

It's always the same. The referees don't give cards for nasty fouls early on in the game so the temper of the players rise then the game doesn't flow. Just constant fouling.

Linesman gives a goal kick and the referee gives a corner.

At least we get to see Defoe against Celtic which gives me more confidence in winning the game.

Nevermind he only misses the Hibs game.

That red card was bullshit. Did absolutely nothing wrong.

What a free kick that would have been.

Actually, what a save.

His mistake was being Morelos.

A few Motherwell players on a yellow committing more fouls yet still on the park.

I don't think it was the pointing to the ears part of the celebration.

I think it was for the gesture that followed.

Irony being as Rab mentioned that Motherwell players lucky to stay on the pitch for several fouls in a feisty game and someone gets sent off for an incident not involving a foul xD

Hearts are just about in full crisis mode at the moment and have Celtic at home this Wednesday.

Their squad is full of experience, but woefully slow and undynamic. Signing washed up players from the EFL is a pretty dreadful strategy, yet Craig Levein is still hanging around the place.

Fully expecting Celtic to win by at least three goals.

Rangers travel to Edinburgh tonight to take on a Hibs team that is on the up with new boss, Jack Ross, without their star striker.
