  1. Tommy Lawrence has died, their goalkeeper when they first started to become a great side under Shankly. Still a great moment:

  4. You’re right that Neymar and especially his father squeezed the club for every cent they could get... As for the loyalty payment for the new contract he signed four months before they became a parody of the Dead Sea Scrolls, Barcelona didn’t pay it and won’t pay it because for the simple fact that there was no loyalty. The legal cases concerning Neymar’s transfer to Barcelona... Bloody hell mate, that wasn’t the Nixon Watergate case or the OJ Simpson case! Even then those legal cases never spent €200m on that and neither did Barcelona. Another thing I do agree with you on is that indeed FC Barcelona have indeed become hypcrcrites in terms of they’ve become an out and out buying club like Real Madrid have always been. This board should think twice about creating and displaying their gigantic banners or mosaics before games referring to La Masia. But let’s also celebrate that the fact Barça got into all that trouble revolving the signing of Neymar and the financial numbers they were trying to keep secret is all down to a Barcelona fan, Jordi Cases who took the club to court because he cared about the club and over 70% of the members (fans) supported him in doing so. That’s a far cry from all the legal battles that don’t get publicised as much by the centralised Spanish media on everything surrounding Real Madrid like their greasing of politicians for the sale of their old training facilities so as to build Valdebebas (their present training city), their greasing of politicians for the right to rebuild the Santiago Bernabéu into a spaceship and all the tax scandals that are currently going through the courts... No Real Madrid socio has as much as muttered and lifted a whisper against the club’s involvement in all of this corruption. But then again this is nothing new and it’s historic how silent everything has always been in situations such as these with that club. It gets a column every now and then but not much else. There’s nothing clean about either club but I suppose you’re right again in the sense that Barcelona have gone around publicising their holier than thou persona throughout the world... Hold on! Forgot about one of Real Madrid’s biggest mottos which is SEÑORÍO! I’ll leave that simple word for people to use Google Translate on.

  5. Lol Liverpool fans not from Merseyside calling Evertonians Scouse cunts must be the stupidest fucking cunts amongst our support lol. That's fucking ridiculous. I'm sure Moshiri knows some dodgy cunts, as he's been involved with Usmanov's USM Holdings, Metalloinvest, MegaFon... and Russian oligarchs are about as dodgy as "legitimate" businessmen come. I've just looked him up on Wikipedia - his wife is a pretty big deal amongst the English-Persian community. Not saying Moshiri is a dodgy cunt though purely because of some of his investments - USM Holdings has a shitload of worldwide investments - and between Moshiri and Usmanov, it looks like there've been a lot of philanthropic donations in the last 20 odd years. If the council's going to be paid back and this ends up providing much needed revitalisation of the northern docks, then I've actually got no problems with this... although I do feel like billionaires should be throwing their own money in for their own stadiums (but that's a personal and political opinion). For pretty much all of my life, that area's been a shithole. And I imagine they've only gotten worse.

  6. I seem to remember we were told we would have to pay for regenerating the area around Anfield before we could expand our stadium. And then our club acted in a totally cunty way and bought up houses at Anfield, left them unoccupied and in a terrible state in order to drive down the house prices so they could get the rest of the land to extend things. So I guess one thing is clear: neither the city council, nor the owners of football clubs really give a fuck about the working class people that support their fucking clubs. Sad but true.

  7. It was a class trip mate. Stayed in an unreal villa and wrecked the place, anything not nailed down was in the pool (will post a photo of it when i can be arsed), my mate shitting in his hand and chucked it on next door's roof along with half of the content in the fridge was canny funny too. No real stories like but just some extremely funny moments. What wasn't funny was landing In Newcastle and being at work 2 hours later. Fucking killer.

  8. Lineker "What did you think of Arsenal's performance today?" SirBalon "Before I get to that I think the better question to ask is, what makes football the sport it is? Association football, more commonly known as football or soccer, is a team sport played between two teams of eleven players with a spherical ball. It is played by 250 million players in over 200 countries and dependencies, making it the world's most popular sport. The game is played on a rectangular field with a goal at each end. The object of the game is to score by getting the ball into the opposing goal.Players are not allowed to touch the ball with their hands or arms while it is in play, unless they are goalkeepers (and then only when within their penalty area). Other players mainly use their feet to strike or pass the ball, but may also use any part of their body except the hands and the arms. The team that scores the most goals by the end of the match wins. If the score is level at the end of the game, either a draw is declared or the game goes into extra time or a penalty shootout depending on the format of the competition. The Laws of the Game were originally codified in England by The Football Association in 1863. Association football is governed internationally by the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA; French: Fédération Internationale de Football Association), which organises World Cups for both men and women every four years.Arsenal Football Club is a professional football club based in Highbury, London, England, that plays in the Premier League, the top flight of English football. The club has won 13 League titles, a record 13 FA Cups, two League Cups, the League Centenary Trophy, 15 FA Community Shields, one UEFA Cup Winners' Cup and one Inter-Cities Fairs Cup. It has won the second-most top flight matches in English football history, and is the only English club to go a 38-match league season unbeaten.Arsenal was the first club from the South of England to join The Football League, in 1893, and they reached the First Division in 1904. Relegated only once, in 1913, they continue the longest streak in the top division. In the 1930s, Arsenal won five League Championships and two FA Cups, and another FA Cup and two Championships after the war. In 1970–71, they won their first League and FA Cup Double. Between 1989 and 2005, they won five League titles and five FA Cups, including two more Doubles. They completed the 20th century with the highest average league position. Now in terms of today's performance, I would say sub par. Lineker "......"
