  1. going by this for last season: https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/41482931 not even close! 16 clubs charging more as their most expensive. Orient nearly charging double that. 7 clubs charging more or equal for their cheapest.

  2. That's all they should be.. All these pre season club competitions they have are meaningless... just a chance to parade the badge and merchandise, they should be about match fitness and trying out systems/tactics etc.. seeing who fits best and where, giving the fringe players a chance to show they might be worth a punt.. not that it matters how well they seem to do in pre season as they only get lumped out on loan anyway, well they do at our club anyway..

  3. Friendlies are about getting players match fit, rather than being all focused on the result. There was a time where nobody ever gave a fuck about friendlies, a simpler time. Now they're all televised and taken on tour for the foreign fans and I think it's weird and doesn't do any good for the clubs or the players.

  4. You can tell things are bad when you can see Everton fan pages and general fans calling out the small minority of Liverpool fans on Twitter who are posting stupid shit like "imagine the day when Karius finally dies" or whatever the one I saw earlier was. Some people really do have problems. It's also pre-season for fuck's sake, who gives a shit how many footballs he wants to throw into his own net.

  5. Pretty much how I feel (except the Bayern part ) since hes been out of prison theres been a well documented power struggle and it needs to change in order to progress but that doesnt erase what Uli has done for the club in the past. I didnt want to give him a reasonable response but you've summed up nicely

  6. UK Electorate - 46 million Voter turnout - 33 million I don't buy the 'it won't make a difference' rhetoric. A million people ( could obviously be more) out of that 13 million who didn't turn out could have had the same view as you - 'it doesn't make a difference'. Guaranteed it would have made some kind of difference if even half of those 13 million fancied voting. Also, what do you mean 'so what?' Have you seen the state of the UK's politics right now - it was shite to start with anyway but Brexit and the referendum vote has been a huge catalyst for the way it is right now. It's an absolute shit-storm, a clusterfuck of massive proportions and the Brexit vote has a lot to do with that.

  7. I don't necessarily agree with Cannabis, but I definitely sympathise with his point of view. I've voted in every general election since I turned 18, but did my vote make the slightest difference? No. I live in a very safe seat and I assume he's the same. My vote literally does not matter. Even in the EU referendum, for which there were no constituencies and the result was very close, the margin of victory was over a million votes. My vote sure as shit didn't make a difference, and even if it had, so what? Leave won and we're essentially remaining anyway. I hate this "if you don't vote you can't complain" shit as well. If you don't attempt to help into power the least bad of a bunch of shitty options, even though it won't make a difference, you're not allowed to point out how shit the victorious shitty option is? Fuck off

  9. I'm already afraid to make any predicitions, haha! Must admit I was skeptical when he was first appointed, but he won over me with time, as I think he improved the way we play enormously, and seems to also be highly respected and supported by the players. Looks like he has a clear idea for the club, both when it comes to tactics, squad building, youth development, etc., and I like his no-nonsense approach and directness. But then I was also very positive about Nouri until he completely alienated most of the squad and his own coaching team after a terrific half season, so yeah, I don't know. I have a good feeling about him, and I hope it works out.

  10. Yep, shit that millions of people didn't cos they didn't think it would make a difference. A vote that ended up that close as well could have been different or much closer if someone did vote. And when it comes to voting I don't think anyone can moan at the way the result turned out cos they didn't mark a box and put their right to vote to good use.

  11. Well, I suppose I'll update the situation with my back. Turns out I had two slipped discs. I couldn't get out of bed on my own on the last couple of days leading up to going into A&E. Went in and had an emergency MRI, and it showed that I had two slipped discs and they were pressing on the nerves that control my bladder (I could barely manage a dribble even when pushing till red faced...apologies for that image). They put me straight in an ambulance and rushed me through to Newcastle Hospital for emergency surgery. I went under at 9pm and didn't wake until 3.30am, and the doctor said later on that morning that it turned out to be a very difficult surgery. So I went in the friday and finally got home the tuesday night. Ive basically had to learn how to walk again over these last 3 weeks, my legs have been so weak and I'm still struggling with stairs and in general walking round like a 85 year old man. But the numbness and pins and needles are slowly but surely dying down. Honestly, although I hated the general feeling of being in Hospital, I can't praise the staff enough. From the Nurses, to the general staff in there; they all made my stay as welcoming and comfortable as possible. So yeah, I'm off until the end of August. I reckon that'll be enough time to recover for a return to work. I've made a load of progress in 2.5 weeks so another 5 should be more than enough to get back to near full mobility, I hope.
