Thank you.. I would like to think so, You will never be everyone's cup of tea and there is nothing worse than never getting through to someone who holds themselves back because they have a bit of a bad attitude towards work etc never thinking about the future.. but when you get the odd one that does respond it makes it all worthwhile for me... hopefully they will go on to pass that on down the line to someone else as time passes..1 point

He was a bit rough round the edges when I first came on board and he did thank me tonight for everything I had done for him but to be honest sometimes good people just need nudging in the right direction, the ability to be better is something they already possess and it's just nice if they realize that... He was just as helpful to me with all his experience when I first arrived as I was for him.. as I said, will be missed1 point

Can surely relate to that... Some of the best people I met were my colleagues at some point; have gotten much closer to them than I expected to and we still keep in touch years later. I'm going to attend the wedding of one of them late this summer, should be great fun.1 point

It probably felt like that for one of my team... 2 of them were as thick as thieves, always together all the time, they went on holiday together with their other halves the lot... we sent them 'dealing with a break up' stuff off the internet.. been a good crack to be honest, he will be missed1 point

You might really enjoy this article then: https://interestingengineering.com/why-didnt-jupiter-become-a-hot-jupiter It goes much deeper into detail of why Jupiter is where it is now and how our whole solar system is the way it is as a result. Very interesting and really makes you think!1 point

Good read and I loved this bit, and the photo, it sent a shiver down my spine. "According to the calculations, Jupiter’s migration went on for around 700 000 years, in a period approximately 2-3 million years after the celestial body started its life as an ice asteroid far from the sun. The journey inwards in the solar system followed a spiralling course in which Jupiter continued to circle around the sun, albeit in an increasingly tight path. The reason behind the actual migration relates to gravitational forces from the surrounding gases in the solar system".1 point

India joins the elite space power club by successfully testing the completely indigenous Anti-Satellite (A-SAT) missile today. Becomes only the fourth country in the world to have demonstrated such capability after the US, Russia and China. @Mel81x @IgnisExcubitor @AMG1 point

Lada was class affordable, reliable, easy to maintain and modify. First car I ever driven as a child. They were pretty much a carbon copy of old Fiats at that time, just with an updated inline four engine with an overhead camshaft. Not that slow for what it was either; you could go up to 150 km/h with ours and with a 1.3 l engine it's not even that bad... The modified rally Ladas are the best though1 point

Rewatching The Wonder Years. Some of the comedy and acting seems a wee bit dated(mostly Wayne's parts), but everything else is still absolute class. Especially the way they have handled issues so sensitively.1 point

The only downside to South America is that you'd have to be very cautious in a lot of South American countries I'd say. Saying that I don't think Uruguay or Argentina would be countries where you would feel uneasy in. I'd get by fine in those 2 I think. I find Brazil to be the most attractive, but at the same time I reckon you would have to seriously be cautious there. Colombia seems beautiful, but again, dodgy and you'd have to be cautious as fuck. I actually know a joiner who went there last year for 6 weeks. He said it was great and that he was "only" mugged once. I suppose it's all about being wise, not carrying too much money or belongings on you, etc. Even though it's not in South America(it should be), Mexico would be right up there and maybe top the list as far as Latin America countries go. If you could sit back, roll up spliffs and just sit there smoking away then the trip wouldn't actually be all that bad at all. It would pass time1 point

New study: The giant planet Jupiter was formed four times further from the sun than its current orbit, and migrated inwards in the solar system over a period of 700 000 years. Researchers found proof of this incredible journey thanks to a group of asteroids close to Jupiter. https://www.lunduniversity.lu.se/article/jupiters-unknown-journey-revealed An interesting read.1 point

Seems I'm old. Since I mentioned my date of birth in an online application, I deceive personalized commercials advertising hearing aids.1 point

Not really they’re the Jim Broadbent's that voted Corbyn at the last general, literally Turkeys voting for Christmas You’re like a shite broken record, ffs the government wrote to every household in the land to say stay. Most large businesses threatened staff with job losses. It’s been a constant stream of negativity and threats for years. Food shortages, lack of medicine, etc etc etc. Every episode of question time or sky news debate regarding Brexit for the last 2.1/2 years has been 3-1 in favour of remain and you’ll still lose a second referendum. I don’t know how to put it any clearer really than fuck off and stop whining. Real people think this begging of the EU to let us bend over and let them fuck us is embarrassing. If you like the EU so much, why don’t you fuck off there. It so tedious you’re like this forums Anna fucking Soubray and she’s a tedious little whining turd to.1 point

That might be a bit too ambitious; it's 4 years ahead of their original schedule and for me that also sounds suspiciously like a stunt before the elections... Not sure they are going to pull it off even if they manage to get large additional funding needed. SLS is not going to be ready, the only way I could see this happening is if they went full-commercial but that is probably not feasible. This will be interesting to follow for sure... It's funny though how the US politicians suddenly became so restless once they finally found out that their "adversaries" are way ahead of them0 points
