Clint Eastwood says he still has the same poncho he wore in the spaghetti westerns (The Good, The Bad and the Ugly, etc) and it has never been washed in 54 years and it's still sitting in a glass case in his house. Just an interesting fact I learned recently3 points

So, it’s come down to last minute leaving before the school year starts (end of Jan) or staying and having my mental health problems for another year. The down side to this decision (it sounds easy doesn’t it?!) is that my principal refuses to release me for 12 months. I am a permanent member of staff which essentially means I have a job at my school until I retire lol. Now the school that wants me for 12 months sees actual value in me and have spoken about more leadership opportunities than I’m currently receiving where I am. This is only a year contract with no guarantee of more time. I will have to relinquish my permanent position which is absolute gold in the teaching world. Another negative is it’s about a 20-25 minute drive whereas current place is 10 minutes away so technically less time at home. But, the positives are new environment (be more challenging from let’s say…. Clientele. ) and hopefully a supportive admin team and a great learning experience for me. I will miss the opportunity to say goodbye to students who I’ve known for 3 years and staff, which will be sad, but I guess I’m a little conflicted.2 points

Nothing worse than a hedge that hasn't been maintained. A real off-putting sight that really shouldn't happen by today's standards.2 points

Not the countryside but London has a great amount of parks. Kew Gardens, Hyde Park (walk round the serpetine), Finsbury Park to Ally Pally walk which starts on a disused rail line turned into country walkway with Highgate woods (and pubs) and a nice view of London on the way. Regents Park and Hamstead Heath are nice (can swim at the heath in the summer), Holland Park is more of a gardens but also nice too.1 point

If you want countryside, Knutsford is your best bet. And it’s about 10mins from the airport as well.1 point

Manchester isn’t anything like London so as a city center, it’s not particularly massive or overwhelming. Some nice hotels and restaurants too. Metrolink service runs every 15 minutes out of the Center towards Old Trafford. If you’re looking at staying in a town as opposed to the City, the tram runs direct from Altrincham as well. Some of the smaller towns like Knutsford and Wilmslow are decent enough and trains will take you direct into the city on a fairly regular basis.1 point

For Lords youre best off getting a hotel near Kings Cross Station and you can get a train pretty much straight to the ground in less than 5/10 minutes. Plus if you do any sight seeing Kings Cross is also good to get you into all the touristy areas within 5/10 minutes. It used to be a massive shithole with crackheads and prostitutes everywhere and that is definitely still visible at times. But the area is mostly now a gentrified food and shopping district. Just don’t stay in a hostel, over here theyre less backpackers and more halfway houses. Especially in and around Kings Cross.1 point

Yes, I should have read the entirety of your post instead of just dashing off to meme creator to make trouble .1 point

It's a disgrace we've become so amateurish and uncompetitive off the field as well as on it. It's partly on Rodgers, but partly on the senior hierarchy above him that have got us to this point.1 point

Try a different brand? Apparently, the differences can be massive and lower quality brands can be overwhelmingly bitter, so maybe that's the problem... I personally find sesame taste very overwhelming in general. I use sesame oil when I make some stir fry sauces, and even a small teaspoon is very noticeable.1 point

It's a paste me out of sesame. It's very bitter on it's own, so you have to mix it with stuff to make it taste good. But I've tried that twice now, and the bitterness was always too overwhelming still.1 point

The pro-Bolsonero idiocy over the weekend seem to be tied to some US political weirdos like Steve Bannon. Brazil's moving at a much quicker pace with condemning these people though, 400 already arrested. I wonder if they go after people like Bannon who stoked the flames for these gullible idiots to go ahead and do this - and if the US would extradite if that happened.1 point

Yep, Venus rotates very slowly and also "backwards" (i.e. in the opposite direction to other planets). Such a weirdo!1 point
