  2. The greatest secret of this election - that for differing reasons, neither the Tories or Labour want to be made totally obvious - is that Labour's position is essentially quite a run-of-the-mill, common-sense economic programme. But we've allowed our sensibilities to be warped so much that economically-illiterate austerity and wholesale impoverishment seems like the natural order of things. Labour are in an economic sense the least radical option.

  4. Both missing the point in my opinion. Politicians have always been full of exaggeration and overly ambitious promises, while most of the time just falling short of being caught bang to rights in an outright lie. Right now we have the party who have actually governed the country for the last 9 years altering their official Twitter account to masquerade as a neutral fact-checking service and then having the cheek to deny that this was misleading. Michael Gove claimed that the only person doing any misleading was Jeremy Corbyn, who produced evidence that UK and US trade officials had met, and that every single word of the meeting had been redacted (read: covered up) by the government. Downing Street also sits on (read: covers up) the report on Russian interference which we have been told by Dominic Grieve contains shocking and extreme revelations that would certainly affect the election while the media refuse to even give it lip service because protecting their billionaire owners and editors is more important than carrying out their actual job of informing the public. It's astonishing how much people allow themselves to believe that there is still some element of doubt over what's going on here. This isn't my opinion, it's a fact, the worst part is that nobody can explicitly prove it. 10 years ago we laughed nervously at North Korea. For the last 5 years we've observed Donald Trump with a mixture of mild amusement and discomfort. You can see where I'm going with this. We aren't through the looking glass just yet, but we're far enough that it's almost certainly too late to turn back. We're way past the point where you can equate the behaviour of Johnson and his friends to "typical lying politicians". This is a different ball game. It really is hopeless. I can't help myself from trying to convince others but the voice inside my head keeps whispering, and I know it's right, that if they don't believe it the only way is to let them wait and see.

  5. Missed Corbyn on the BBC leaders debate but sounds like it was positive coming from my mum and step dad who are both sceptical of him. Caught Johnson and he was a bumbling mess. Didn't deal with the difficult questions well at all this man as well https://mobile.twitter.com/LeftoriumThe/status/1197973992981831680?s=20 Well done Sheffield

  7. First Formula E race of the new season today. I tried hard to watch it now with Porsche taking part but I just can't... Will just have to keep up with the results I think Anyway the results: Sam Bird takes the win; both Porsche (Lotterer) and Mercedes (Vandoorne) on the podium on their debut race. Not too shabby.

  8. There are parts of this game that are terribly annoying and rewarding at the same time and I am the kind of person that spends way too much time exploring zones and leveling up versus just rushing through things so I take my time to see if I am missing anything. Having said that, when I look back on how I played through it now I wish I had spend less time on actual combat upgrades and more time on increasing metas that let me use force and my vitality more. The story is quite nice and I like how they've brought it in characters from all the SW movie franchises too which is a nice touch.

  10. @Mel81x wow it was easy as fuck to fix my NS-2. There was just one loose connection (idk how it got loose in the first place, but whatever) - resoldered it real quick and put it back together and now it's good as new (well functionally, the paint is still pretty beaten up lol)

  14. I've never played a Yamaha instrument I didn't think was a much higher quality than the price point they're available at. And with their guitars, you jump up $100 from the last model you looked at and the upgrade in quality is absolutely outstanding. The THR amps (which I have back at my parents house, I'm pretty sure my dad uses it all the time now) are also pretty remarkable little devices. Imo we've already seen Line 6 benefit from being a Yamaha subsidiary - the Helix gear is top notch and competes with Fractal and Kemper stuff at a (slightly) lower price. As a kid I remember the Line 6 Pod being a good, not great, the Pod HD stuff that came out shortly after Yamaha took control was really great (for the time - dunno how they hold up now, considering how much better modeling technology is now). Even the fucking Line 6 Spiders, which are famously dogshit, have improved pretty significantly in quality. My opinion of Line 6 has changed pretty significantly after the Yamaha takeover They also own Steinberg. And a top notch Piano company that I forget the name of. I know Yamaha does stuff outside of music... but their music division and subsidiaries are all top of the line imo and their contribution to music is pretty significant. Yamaha and Boss are... fucking great companies. God bless Japan, eh?

  16. Good job not every league fixture Chelsea have to play is against United then? That's like saying Matthew Longstaff is better than McTominay because when Man Utd played Newcastle, Longstaff scored once and McTominay didn't do anything. A bit ridiculous you're trying to shit on Tammy Abraham, who's got a pretty fantastic goal record this season at a very young age, and Firmino (btw: https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/jose-mourinho-roberto-firmino-liverpool-16963050) because of that stat you've come up with. It is good, though, for United that they've got strikers that are as efficient in front of goal - it's certainly needed considering how little creativity is in the side.
