The Artful Dodger Posted December 17, 2019 Posted December 17, 2019 What a waste of time this is. League shouldd have allowed Liverpool to quit like they did Manchester United.
LFCMadLad Posted December 17, 2019 Posted December 17, 2019 If Brewster was in instead of Longstaff, this could be very different.
Guest Posted December 17, 2019 Posted December 17, 2019 Who's the manager for this game for Liverpool?
LFCMadLad Posted December 17, 2019 Posted December 17, 2019 Villa's strength and experience showing through now. Hope this doesn't get too bad, it's really not good for them.

Dr. Gonzo Posted December 17, 2019 Posted December 17, 2019 Brutal for the kids tbh. We should have been allowed to withdraw rather than waste everyone's time with this.

LFCMike Posted December 17, 2019 Posted December 17, 2019 Shame they didn't take one of the early chances. 4-0 is harsh as it stands and can only see it getting a lot worse unfortunately
LFCMadLad Posted December 17, 2019 Posted December 17, 2019 Those first half stats shown on Sky are pretty impressive from our youth/u23's to be fair. Villa scoring 4 goals from 3 shots on target We've had more shots, more shots on target, more possession and more successful passes. As me and @Ricksaid, Brewster plays instead of Longstaff and we possibly could still be well in this.

I know they're 4-0 up, but thought they would have taken this game seriously?? Expand Because they can? It wasn't exactly a secret that we'd be putting out a very young side today. This gives the main players at Villa a chance to rest and their squad players an opportunity to play. Granted, it's not really a great experience for them that tells Villa anything meaningful about playing the squad players here - given that they're up against a youth team. But it's probably decent for their match fitness, but at very least it gives Villa players a chance to rest.
Bluewolf Posted December 17, 2019 Posted December 17, 2019 In the grand scheme of things I don't think Liverpool will be bothered by this at all, Just a chance to let the younger players have a run out and if they won then great but if they lost then no real issue except for their pride getting hurt a bit.. pool have got far bigger fish to fry

There was absolutely no pressure on these lads tonight and I reckon the Liverpool management (U23s and Klopp etc) would be more hurt if they got smashed in another U23 game as opposed to this one.
Fairy In Boots Posted December 17, 2019 Posted December 17, 2019 It’s decent for Nyland, Jota and Chester to get 90 mins as all coming back from injuries. Chester’s first game since Jan. landsbury also needs game time, I’d get Wesley on though try to grab him a goal give him some confidence
Administrator Stan Posted December 17, 2019 Author Administrator Posted December 17, 2019 Decent chance for Kane. Could have headed it back across goal and a team-mate gets on the end of that.

LFCMadLad Posted December 17, 2019 Posted December 17, 2019 Actually really proud of the lads tonight. Think they did themselves proud, despite the score. Only difference between the two sides.... strikers.
Rick Posted December 17, 2019 Posted December 17, 2019 The young lads did very well. They can be very pleased with themselves. The score line doesnt tell the full story, as the game was much more even than it suggests.
Fairy In Boots Posted December 17, 2019 Posted December 17, 2019 Good finish from Wesley, actually looks decent when we play on the floor and don’t lump it
