Ziyech, Chilwell, Silva and Kovacic are out for this. Mendy's transfer also pending.

Pulisic, Azpilicueta, and James are back.

With the lack of preseason games, I think Lampard will slowly transition the new players in. I'd expect something like this.

Kepa

Azpilicueta---Rudiger---Zouma---Alonso

Kante

Barkley----Mount

Havertz------------------CHO

Werner

Big auditions for Kepa and Rudiger/Christensen/Zouma tonight.

Mendy deal is almost complete. Kepa fucks up, straight to the bench. Goes the same with Rudiger/Christensen/Zouma. All three will be battling for a spot to partner Silva.

What I would like to see tonight in this order...

1. A win with a clean sheet for a change....

2. Failing that a win where we don't concede more than 1 goal..

3. Failing that any kind of win will do...

Was not expecting Loftus-Cheek to start at all.

Yup. Lack of width concerning when you consider Brighton play 5 at the back.

He is like that funny squirrel down the garden trying to climb the slippy pole to get at the bird food... looking at him going at it day after day while I smile with my morning coffee knowing he is no danger to anyone but himself...

VAR is only shit if the cunt doesn't do his job and even then it's as bad as having no VAR at most.

Well if you are like me and don't waste your day moaning about stuff that you can't change you will be surprised at how much and how productive you can be... B|

Chelsea manager Frank Lampard, speaking to Sky Sports, on his new signings: "We must give them time. They are really talented lads and have shown they are great characters and shown they are good teammates already.

"I expect their quality to come through but I don't want people to expect loads tonight. Quietly, I sort of do...

"The fact we do have some new players in the squad means we do have to work. I'd like to see that the steps we have made this week have hit home. It's a very interesting one for us."
