If a player is fouled offside it has to be 'dangerous play'. Pickford is clearly just trying to make himself big and challenge for the ball. No but according to Steve McManaman they should just change the rules for this specific set of circumstances because it hurt Liverpool. I agree, malicious intent should see red, it was a bad challenge but not deliberately inflicted injury. We've been average at best here, midfield is allowing them through too easily. Robertson and Mane attacking down the left against an out of position Godfrey on his debut and James who doesn't tackle and is on a yellow is going to be a problem in the second half. Fact is that the offside doesn’t effect the decision making, and Pickford went in recklessly with a scissor challenge. Absolutely a fucking red card challenge.
