Eco Posted June 15, 2017 Posted June 15, 2017 I'll go with Portugal as winners of the group, and likely Mexico as the runners up, but I'd be wanting Russia.
Administrator Stan Posted June 17, 2017 Author Administrator Posted June 17, 2017 Russia on top against New Zealand. Recognise a few NZ players. Russia need to pepper the goalie because he doesn't look very confident.
Administrator Stan Posted June 17, 2017 Author Administrator Posted June 17, 2017 1-0 to Russia. Fully deserved and well worked.

Honey Honey Posted June 17, 2017 Posted June 17, 2017 The Russian fans haven't even bothered showing up. Poor.

There is literally no part of me that is looking forward to a World Cup being hosted in this country next year. I'm more excited about The Championship next season and I have no affiliation to it.
Subscriber RandoEFC+ Posted June 17, 2017 Subscriber Posted June 17, 2017 No atmosphere and Russia vs New Zealand is an absolutely abysmal curtain raiser. Yawn, hope it's more interesting in the coming days.
Azeem Posted June 18, 2017 Posted June 18, 2017 Was really looking forward to watch the Portugal-Mexico game but with the todays cricket game they wont be showing it have to look for a online stream now
Cicero Posted June 18, 2017 Posted June 18, 2017 Won't surprise me in the slightest if Mexico get something from this, or even win.
Machado Posted June 18, 2017 Posted June 18, 2017 Embarrassing line up. Tired of all the old players i.e Nani, Quaresma, Moutinho... Is this 2008 or 2017?

Eco Posted June 18, 2017 Posted June 18, 2017 Ugh - I hate video replays already. Just takes the human element out of it.

Wonder if you'll still hate it if a goal is ruled out against you that was offsides.... All for it. Getting sick of teams losing due to bull shit officiating. 4 Portuguese players were offsides. Imagine if that fucking stood.
Machado Posted June 18, 2017 Posted June 18, 2017 Fair decision but the waiting time is annoying and very anti-climax. I can't get used to it.

I'm all for getting the call right, but I think offsides can sometimes be up the ref's descrection. If a guy is offside, but no where near the ball, are they are going start calling those too? The VAR was obviously the correct call, and I'm glad they got it right, but I wonder how they will handle it when it's not as obvious.
Eco Posted June 18, 2017 Posted June 18, 2017 Also, will they look at goals that were clearly scored but the ref incorrectly put off the offside flag?
Eco Posted June 18, 2017 Posted June 18, 2017 Portugal scores, this time no question. Beautiful set up.
Guest Posted June 18, 2017 Posted June 18, 2017 Shit lineups or not, I find Fernando Santos' Portugal side very interesting tactically. I enjoyed them at the Euro's despite most of their games being low scoring. Hopefully they win the whole thing here.
