I think Liverpool will go ahead first but then they'll need to keep their wits as United have been good at getting results when they were behind this season

I'd be surprised if they noticed you were there tbh

Souness genuinely already has, says Liverpool are in 2nd place. The absolute berk.

Nothing more annoying to me than somebody, who publicly stated on here that they wanted last season to be voided and didn’t care if we lifted the premier league trophy,

See, you keep saying this with absolutely no understanding of what I actually meant. As if I didn't care if we won the league xD Some things are more important and I'm not going into it all again. If you want to believe I didn't care then you carry on being wrong, Im really not not bothered.

As for the game, I hate these games. Never enjoy the build up and the nerves don't go away till the game has ended. As for the result... who knows, Utd are on a good run, keep scrapping results whereas we are in poor form and never really play well after an extended break in games.

I fucking hated Riise. He lived off that goal against them for years

Maybe so, but we want to see Bobby lash one of those in today 😂

It has the potential to be a really good battle between two sides gunning for the title but I agree with you, it'll more likely be dull, stale, and a borefest after all the hype surrounding it.

The hype is usually justified when we play manu, arguably the biggest club game in the world.

Will it be a "dull, stale borefest"?

Unfortunately this seems to be a possibility, for quite a while now manu have parked the bus at Anfield and hoped to nick a winner on the break .

I won't be surprised if if its more of the same with Ole at the wheel hoping for dodgy pen or VAR help.:(

United victory ends Liverpool's unbeaten run at home. Leaving our record still intact.

What's your record and how close are Liverpool to it?

We're on 67 I think. Chelsea is 80-odd. 86 sounds about right

Fabinho and Henderson at the back again.

A start for Shaqiri as well?!

Shame Matip isn’t ready. Glad to see Shaqiri in the line up over Ox, he deserves the chance. Please knock fuck out of these lot.

Matip not ready

Idk why but I always like seeing Shaqiri on the team sheet. Maybe it’s because he got Mourinho sacked?

What a game to bring him in to though?! Surprising from a neutral point of view, anyway.

I wonder if this means we’ve gone to a 4-2-3-1 to accommodate Shaqiri - he usually plays really well with a double pivot in midfield. And with 2 midfielders in defense that might be better

No better time to really see what this United team is capable of.

You'd think a win here they would focus primarily on the league and field bench players in the Europa league.

I like Shaqiri. He's always going to be one of those players that blows hot and cold but he has the ability to unlock defences. If he could stay fit and make the sort of contributions he did in 18/19 then he's a great player to have in the squad

He did get about half an hour at Southampton and then Villa in the cup so it's not like he's coming in without any game time

More the fact that he's just seemed out of form/out of favour and this is a huge game to now start him in. I don't doubt for one second Klopp knows what he's doing, just a surprise is all.

Given how “not ready” Rhys Williams has looked (can’t blame him he’s a kid) and how Nat Phillips (I actually like his mentality when he’s on the pitch) looks like he’s a championship defender at times... we’re likely going to see lots of midfielders that have squad roles probably rotate in and out as 2 of our best midfielders will probably be CBs in the extremely likely occurrence that Matip gets injured.

Out of Shaqiri, Minamino and the Ox... I personally like Shaqiri the most as a squad option. He’s got a certain X factor. I’d maybe say Minamino next - they’ve got similar qualities but are a bit different imo. Then the Ox... I like him, I know he’s a good player... but it does feel like our side has evolved while he was out injured for almost a year and I agree with @Burning Gold that we’ve sort of outgrown him based off what he’s shown in recent matches.

I’m hoping we accommodate Shaqiri by playing a double pivot - which will also be useful for playing a side that is very dangerous on the counter.

He was injured until the end of December. Was an unused sub in a couple I think then got half an hour in the last two.
