Spike
BBC just published an argument starting kit. https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/56644914 I was picking players based on their form for Guardiola, not a wholistic sense of their career. So that means even though I think Ibrahimovic is amazing, he wasn't as much so under Guardiola so I couldn't pick him. Though Aguero was the iffiest player, I was tempted to shift Messi centrally and just throw David Silva on the right.
Spike
Then I thought of Lewandowski, well he was better after Guardiola left so I can't choose him right? Not so easy afterall.
Cicero
Mine is somewhat similar. Just Kompany for Pique and rotate Iniesta and KDB.

Kompany peaked under Mancini and Pelegrini though. I couldn't include a player that was on the downwind like that.

Yeah I'd agree. Think Kompany became even more injury prone under Pep.
Cicero
Alves is a shoe in as he is arguably Peps greatest ever signing. You could make a point that Messi was utilised best as a false 9 under Pep and that Silva was City's most influential player bar KDB during 2017-2020. Don't think anyone will be able to get the ball off of them Neuer Alves Pique Puyol Lahm Busquets KDB Xavi Messi Silva Iniesta
Carnivore Chris
Piqué was a beast under Pep and when partnered with Puyol. Eto'o might have only played under him one season but was brilliant that season. Selling him for Ibra was the biggest mistake in Pep's managerial career also. Happy Blue
Ederson Alves - Kompany - Dias - Lahm Silva - De Bruyne - Iniesta Messi - Aguero - Foden You cant argue against that, would be the best team to ever play football if Kinkladze was in it too! Can't argue with that but try getting the ball off that midfield when they were in their prime and Neuer isn't really required as much anymore imo. Administrator Stan Posted May 13, 2021 Administrator Share Posted May 13, 2021 That's the same as mine but swap Kompany for Pique.

Neuer's the best keeper since Buffon... but I'm not going to make a team that wasn't already assembled. I'm just picking Pep's best team.

If I was going to make a "best of pep" it'd be the same team but with Neuer and Lahm in the starting XI instead, imo.
